    Hammer's gone

I received an e-mail on 12/4 indicating they were having a big sale. I went by today to see if they had anything I "needed". There was a sign on the door saying Closed because of bad economy thanks for the past 20 years. This was the Petaluma, CA store. I stopped in Cordilla and they are still open and said that Petaluma was a different owner.

I am really bummed about that. I bought my 210 there and would regularly stop in for misc. stuff. So, who is the closest other Nautique dealer in Norcal?

I think the Hammers in Fairfield. They are still around. Then there is Larson in Stockton and Rancho Cordova. There is also one in the San Jose area.

That is a bummer that Hammer's closed. I bought my boat there and was always treated with the utmost respect. The great part about them was even after 10 years they'd still remember you and it was pretty much the same "crew." I was thought both the Hammer's locations were the same owner, maybe they split them up for "other reasons." But, I am sad to hear they are gone, Jim, Howie and the rest of the guys were always the best! The Petaluma store was in a tough location and when In n Out opened up next to it, it was only harder to get into. The FF (Cordilla) location is a much better spot on the way to Tahoe and close to Berryessa.

I purchased my boat from Mike Thomas @ Central Valley Marine and would recommend anyone who is looking for a Nautique in the Bay area to go see him.

I drove by what use to be Hammer's on Cordeilla and saw it's now called California Watersports. I guess they did sell it or changed the name after closing the other store. Anyone know what the story is, who owns them?

I stop in there all the time and they are good guys. I am not sure what the connection was with the other store but it is the same guys. I went there the day the other store closed and they new it was coming but seemed surprised that it had happened. Before I bought my CC I thought the CC service centers (West Coast CC) and distribution was just an added cost but I am glad they are there now.
