I may need to get one for my boat and have never had one. I have a couple of questions.
1. What size do I order?
2. Who has quality without getting ripped off.

Yes, they do make biminis for boats without towers. Their products are top-notch.
I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.
If we can be of service to you, please contact us anytime!
I've had amazing service and great quality at http://www.gmitopdesign.com/ . Custom Sunbrella bimini delivered to my door for 250.00 US including shipping. Great quality and super fast shipping. Top notch product IMO. This is all these guys do and they churn these things out within 5 days. I did my research on this one and I couldn't find anyone within double this price. They require ranges of height and width, which can be dialed in with minor adjustments when you receive/install the bimini. I was getting prices of over 500.00 from other vendors, even local shops, which was borderline insulting after seeing the quality of this top.

M3fan.
That would be great if you could get me the size. Thanks-
Who uses Biminis anyway, summer is too short up here in Minn to use a Bimini. How would you stay warm with no sun shine?

There are 3 measurements that you will need. These are the exact drop-down options on the GMI order form:
The length of the bimini that you should choose is 5 Feet (3 Bow)
The Height is 30-36"
The Width is 79-84" (actual width is 82.5" so this range is perfect)

Also pick up some quick connects for the top, no thumb screws.....overtons or Ski dim have them. They just snap into a socket. They dont rattle either. I have them on mine and they are well worth the price.
I see that the height of the top is quite high in the picture in this discussion. I have seen most 196's use biminis lower then this one. Does this height allow much sun through the front etc?
Just curious as I get ready to buy a top for my 2001 196.
I've since cut the mains down about 4" so it's lower now. I also have it angled forward a bit more now. The key is that it is high enough that it can be folded forward of the windshield if needed- that's key.
