    M3Fan,

Good point. I want to be able to drop the top down without disconnecting the top from the boat. Is your heigth now at 32" versus 36" ?

    Many thanks for your info.

It's somewhere in between. I measured for how low it could possibly go while still being able to fold it forward and it came out to between a 3 and 4 inch cut. Another option would be to mount it to the windshield which will allow for an even lower bimini while still allowing it to fold forward. The hardware that comes with the GMI top will work for either mounting method. I wanted to mount mine to the deck so I didn't consider the windshield option. GMI will always ship the top with the maximum height of your range that you specify, and you cut it down lower if desired.

        M3Fan,

Did you consider the slide rail option to allow for movement forward to clear the Windsheild when you take the top down?
I am considering the slide rail option but am curious if you considered the slide rail option and if you did, why did you avoid that option.

I hate cutting holes in my boat and wnat t oget it right the first time. :>)
