    Prop. Nut

I have changed props' on my 95 SN. I installed the new prop, seated it and installed the prop nut. I did tighten the nut, and installed the cotter pin. I have notice that after some use the nut is now loose, meaning I can hand twist it back and forth with in the limits of the cotter pin . Is this normal? It seem I should remove the pin and see if I can tighten the nut to the next cotter pin notch, but it did not know if you can over tighten the nut.

    Thanks for any info

You can't over tighten it but you do have to worry about being stuck in between the two different holes. If you want, put a small piece of wood over top of one of the blades and wedge it between that and the hull. This will give you a little more leverage. You don't have to put a ton of muscle into it though.

Thanks Skinautique, I just wonted to make sure I would not screw some thing up. By the way I use your suggestion form an earlier post ( at least I thing it was yours) on getting a boat cover on once the bow is trailed in the bow stops. Loosening the set bolt just gives enough room to place the cover around the bow. Good call.
