Two questions...

I am looking at a 2002 SAN Team Edition w/ a GT40.

First question. The boat has very low hours on it. Is there any way to verify the hours? Are they resetable? (I ask this because the hours seem very low even though the boat is in great condition).

Second question. It has a prestige trailer, is there any way to retro fit a removeable tounge of swing away tongue on this thing so I can get it in my garage?

The hours are not resetable unless the gauge has been replaced. You can look on the tach or on the perfect pass if it has it. There is a resetable timer on the perfect pass.

I would say that most trailers can have a swing away retrofitteed, just not my magnum. Mine can't because the trailer has an a-frame that extends all the way to the brake actuator. If yours has a section of straight square tube under the bow of the boat, then yes it can be retrofitted.

With regards to the hours, there is a guy on here who has a '93 sport with less than 100 hours. If the boat looks like it has very few hours on it, and the hour meter shows very few hours I would tend to believe it.

Hey! That's me! Actually, before it went back to the shop to get the idle problem ironed out, I put a few more hours on it. It is now just barely over 100. Guess I better change my sig, huh?

100 hours! holy cow!, I put 60 on since October.

Once we get the kinks from the long layup ironed out, it will be getting regular work-outs. We now live in a ski lake community and we are 3 houses from the ramp. Where we lived before, it took longer to get the boat ready and on the water than the time actually on the water. It's going to be a great summer.

You can not check the actual hours on a Ford engine. I wouldn't be too concerned with the actual hours. I would be more concerned with the maintenance that has or hasn't been done. As far as the perfect pass hours, that only registers when the perfect pass is powered on.

On the trailer, you probably have one that flips up instead of swinging away. If you post a picture of the trailer, I can give you better information.

Yeah, the flip-ups are almost as good. My old boat fit in a 20' garage.
