Ballast Sacs for 230/236

I want to get a totally integrated water ballast system for my 230 this year, and I'm thinking about having Fly High build a custom sac for the ski locker. Before I do that, does anyone know of any sacs currently made that fit into the ski locker of the 230/236, and that have a mushroom-type top section that takes up the extra room under the bow after the built-in tank ends?

I don't know if they have a "semi-custom" locker sack. What are the dimensions of that locker? Take a look at some of the upgrade sacks HiFly offers for the Supras and Mastercrafts. You may consider using the integrated bow sack or the open bow sack plus a locker sack they have from stock. This way, you can pump either one up or down depending on what you are trying to do with the wake. You will also eliminate the chance of a partially empty sack (your proposed layout) sending water from the front towards the back on acceleration.

Hey did you post what your new boat will look like? Did you order it yet? You going for the Titan tower?

That's a good point about water rushing back in a partially filled bag. I hadn't thought about that. Maybe two seperate bags is the way to go.

My boat has been ordered. It's coming from the factory all black with the crest graphics. I'm going to add a white pinstripe and a red pinstripe. I thik it is going to look killer. Can't wait to get it. Although the functionality of the Titan tower is great, I just don't like the way they look. I went with the original tower. I know that it is a two or three person job to fold it down, but last year I never folded my tower, so hopefully I won't have to this year either.

YES!! That's exactly what I am looking for. The Arrow Bag they mention is pretty much exactly what I had in mind. I wish it wasn't a custom bag though. At least now I know it can be done!

i run a FlyHigh W705 ( http://fatsac.com/FlyHigh/FlyHighSacs.html ) rear seat sack in the locker of my 220, which has the same shape as the locker in your 230. after crawling in the locker and taking all sorts of measurements, i determined that the extra cost of the more custom fit arrow head sack was not worth it. the top to bottom space narrows quickly, especially towards the sides. the w705 sack is 60"x20"x10" and will completely fill the locker with room to spare.

as far as running it half full/empty, i have never experienced a problem with water sloshing around. i usually run it completely full. i have it plumbed from the hard tank to the rear of the bag, and the overflow is going from the front of the bag to the overflow port in the hull.

just for reference, i also have 350lbs of lead in the nose, 750lb w707s in each rear locker, and a w711 v shaped sack for the nose if things get really out of hand.

also, you have to be concerned about the bags vacuum locking when you drain the ballast. because the front bag is so big, it never vacuum locks on itself when it drains. my rear sacks did vacuum lock and i ended up running some tubing the length of the back to keep it from happening. i ignored the problem at first until i accidentally bent one of my ballast tank level pickups, which controls whether or not the empty pump turns on. bottom line is that i was stuck with a stock tank plus a 750lb bag filled on one side which would not empty. luckily i had an old school style pump on board to empty the sack and get the boat on the trailer....

Does the 705 lay flat in the locker, or do you have it on its side? If it is on its side, did you have to add fittings to the side (which would now be the top)?

lay it flat like you see it in the picture. it will still completely fill the entire locker. one time i left my locker open while filling the that sack, and it filled so much i could close the door. i had to empty it some just to get the door to shut, hahaha!

Too bad you already placed your order and picked the original tower.

The custom "crane" tower on this 236 is simply the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Maybe with your connections it's not too late to make the change??
