    Nautique Excel

I'm considing a '93 Nautique Excel for the sole purpose of Wakeboarding. Had anyone rode behind an excel. How was the wake. Sharpness, size and will the boat plane out at 18-19.
Also, does the Excel have the same hull as the Martinique?
    Thanks

I have not wake boarded but have barefooted behind one and thought it was flat and soft. I liked it for that but the speed was 35-40. Sorry I can't be of more help.

i think the excel is a barefoot hull w a small block. so it should have a nice wakeboard wake. steep but nice.

Awesome wakeboard boat ! Came w/ 351 PCM..... Very defined wakes at wakeboard speed - Rampy, hard edges with flat high soft table (at 36+ flat table made for awesome 'footin' wake) .... hard edges, though.
The new owner of our old Excel is weighting it - Private Message 92Excel and ask him about it for boarding and surfing. We miss the wakeboard wake it had but we love the 206's slalom wake (decisions, decisions)!! Good Luck BTW - Not Martinique Hull.....

Here's the skinny on the Nautique Excel. They were 1991-1994 production models. In these years, the Barefoot Nautique was really an Excel with different graphics. The 454 was an option on both the Excel and Barefoot, not necessarily standard on the Barefoot. The 1990 Barefoot Nautique is DD, but appears to have the same hull as the 91-94's but I can't confirm this.

Basically, search for both Excels and Barefoots from 91-94, here's what I found. I figure any hardcore boarder will peel off these graphics and outfit it with some modern "Air" graphics anyways.
