Anyone know how PCM did it??

Hey guys!! Happy New Year!!

I was wondering if anyone knew what PCM did to up the hp from 330 t o 343.
Did they just tweak the ECM?

Wish I could just throw on a after market air intake and exhaust system and be done with it. Don't think that'll work. :mrgreen:

Any ideas gang?

I have heard ECM only with the ZR6 however with the Excal they made other mods, fuel rail or FI system amongst other things.

Yep, Quinner is correct. I know for sure that the ZR6 was just an ECU change, and I heard that the Excalibur was an intake and an ECU change.

Yep. The Excalibur is now 343 HP and the ZR6 is 390.

Excalibur has a new throttle body and new ECU software.
ZR6 just has new ECU software.

If its just a throttle body change and ECU reprogram, it wouldnt be too hard to swap out. For 13 hp, it hardly seems worth it, though. If you want more hp, your money would be better spent on better exhaust manifolds, a cam, or roller rockers (assuming the SBC doesnt have them already).

That's what I was thinking, as I'm big into show cars, and getting the best bang for the buck always applies. Especially these days when things are slow in my business, more like dead I should say. Yellow_Flash_Colorz: Yellow_Flash_Colorz:
