    Drakes Creek Marine (Nashville TN)

Has anyone purchased a CC from Drakes Creek Marine. If so, can you give me your opinion on the transaction, service department, and general feel about boating out of Drakes Creek Marina on Old Hickory Lake (Nashville, TN)? Any input would be helpful.

    Thanks

They do not have a great reputation here in town and that is why CC are not all over the lake. Malibu, Tige, Mastercraft are the big sellers in this area because the shops get involved in the local scene and people like to work with people they know. I have looked at a 220 out there a year ago. The boat was a demo and had like 60 hrs on it and was used for a camp. They wanted to sell me that boat for more than i could have bought it new at another dealer. I have a 93 Sport Nautique and I don’t take it there, I either take it to Ski Hut or TNT. I love CC and will never own any other boat, however I don’t think I will ever buy or service my boat there. This is just my 2 cents; someone else out there might have had a great experience there.

As Far as the service, and Transaction at Dreeks creek, I don't know. My cousin went to Nashville Diesel college and worked there while he was at school, and Chris, one of the owners was a great guy. Treated us great when I came to visit, and helped me out when I was looking for my SAN. I know they deal with alot of BIG boats, like $100k+ yachts, and I think thats there main business. Just go talk to them (Chris) and see what he's got. I can't hurt.

Hey Brad I'm from the Nashville area and have gotten to know the some of the guys that work there, including chris the guy who runs the entire operation. I have heard about what NEEDWAKE was talking about and as i understand there has been a huge change around that place including a new service dept. if ur somewhat close I'ld check them out. What ever you do stay true to the Nautiques bro.

            great dealer

i shopped every dealer in this town with an open mind for my last purchase and came away buying my first CC because of the way I was treated at Drakes Creek. Scott Johnson (CC salesrep) and Chris Wolford (owner) have been nothing but great. I had some set up issues with my 236. Chris and Scott took the time to help me with the issues even going as far as to call a couple factory riders and getting them on the phone with me to help out. all my service has been just as promised and delivered back when said. I keep my boat dry docked on the other side of the lake from Drakes Creek, whenever I have it serviced I just ride it up there and Scott always shuttles me to and from either himself or has a staff member do so. I have had two buddies buy new boats last year from other dealers and both are shopping new CC's because they have seen the way I get treated. No they do not carry the gear and other goodies such as TNT or Ski Hut but they are serious about CC's and their owners. you would be doing yourself an injustice not to give Scott a call!!!!!

              RE: great dealer

Once again, thanks for the input! I have spoken with Scott and he took us out on the 220. I feel very comfortable with him; however, it never hurts to ask, especially if you're buying a premium product that definitely will require service at one point. I love the boat, but it is the most expensive one on the list. We've got several demos set-up over the next month. Hopefully, by mid-March I'll see you on the water.

Hey 236russ, which marina do you have your boat dry docked?

If u buy the black 220 I will be so jealous, that boat is going to kill on the water. Almost ordered a new 230 just to get the color combo on that boat. The new polished titan tower would be hot on that boat.Tell Scott I said hi! you are in good hands! Good luck with your choice, it is a tough one. Lots of nice boats out there.

This will be our first boat. My wife is proceeding very cautiously, which is ok, it's a big decision. The black 220 is sick. The torque on the boat is ridiculous. The wake is pretty sensitive, but performs better at speed. I love it, but it's the most expensive one our list.

                    Hey Russ,

Why did you choose to keep your boat on Old Hickory as opposed to Center Hill? Also, where do you go to find clean water?

                      Drakes Creek Marine

                      Hi “Need Wake”

This is Scott Johnson, the Nautique representative from Drakes Creek Marine. I have read the post you placed on Planet Nautique on Jan. 29, 2008. And as you might imagine, hearing you describe your unhappiness and disgruntlement with our place of business was disturbing to me.

I believe that we truly endeavor to take care of our customers, above and beyond their expectations. In fact, exceeding expectations is a mantra by which we do our business; I have countless customers who can attest to this fact.

And yet, this doesn’t change your experience with Drakes Creek Marine. So, I would like to personally contact you, to find out what went wrong, and how we can address it. Having one unhappy customer out there is one too many, and I would like to find out what we can do to earn your business back.

Have you had a particular experience that has soured your perception of our business? You mention our collective reputation, and I can tell you candidly that when I first got here in January 2006, I heard some of the same things. The irony is that I was hired to help mend some of these issues. In the last 2 years and 2 months, I have made significant progress towards strengthening the trust our dealership has with the community, and I can give you countless examples of customers where I have exceeded their expectations. If asked, I am sure all of them would respond enthusiastically! We have done this through having a dedicated Sales Associate for the Nautique line (me), and by dedicating one of our 5 service techs exclusively to the Nautique line, which includes a certification process, and ongoing factory training. Because of these things, our Nautique sales have more than doubled, the truest test of a job well done.

So, I ask you sincerely and humbly to consider contacting me via my personal email or cell phone, listed below. I have never worked for a company that never made mistakes. But it is the efforts a company expends to correct those mistakes that shows the true mettle and worth of a business. Under that premise, I wish to know what it takes to earn back your business.

I look forward to hearing from you.
                      Thanks
                      Scott Johnson

P.S. This is not about selling you another boat. I simply want you to be able to say that we conduct our business honorably and fairly.

hey brad, I here you on the wife thing. Last year was our first new boat purchase and my wife was freaking out to (alot of money  ) I am fortunate enough to have a couple guys and a great wife that allow me the opportunity to ride a couple afternoons a week as well as on the weekends, as well as the fact that I live 5 minutes from the boat house. Centerhill never crossed my mind!! There are lots of great places to ride on Old Hickory if you know where to go, even on the busiest days. When you look at the boats check out the re-sale value of the boat in 2 years, i think you will be surprised at the value differences between the CC , MC and then everything else (the malibu does pretty good to ) but supra, tige, moomba and centurion as well as all the other boats lose value quick and if your wife is freaking out over the cost show her how well the CC holds its value. if you wish to contact me direct feel free to email me at russ@commercialmethods.com and ill drop you my #. hope this helps!!

This is posting is long overdue. I want to Thank Chris Wolford from Drakes Creek for calling me and spending 45min. on the phone with me. I appreciate his commitment to his business to wanting to meet the needs of the CC owners here in middle TN. You know someone cares for there customers when they make the effort like Chris and Scott did to reach out to me and not just blow me off! I don't believe that I have ever had a company track me down like they did just to be able to talk to me, that to me shows a lot of commitment. Thanks again Chris, it was great talking with you!

So has Drakes Creek Marina gotten out of representing/selling Correct Crafts? I think Correct Crafts are now being serviced by TNT Water Sports in the TN/KY area now. Can anyone confirm? If so, does anyone have experience with TNT?

                              Thank you,
