kdw and nn settings for san

What settings are you guys using for a SAN. Seems like my PP isn't holding speed as well as it did before we starting adding more weight . I'm currently at about 1600 lbs plus riders. I also changed the prop to a 13.25x16 from a 13.5x17.5. Will this also affect the way the PP will hold speed?

Yes going higher will get you more speed but because you are traveling farther per RPM variations will be more noticable. I would go down to a 14 or 14.5 to get more Torque. It will lower your top speed at WOT but for boarding I beleive it will be better

Try changing the NN to 120. The lower the NN value, the faster the engine reacts to the information the paddlewheel sends. Factory setting is 150.

Got some of the same issues....but I am not running with a ton of weight...my max weight will be people within the boat....maybe 700lbs to 1500 lbs of people.

I have been told to reset the KDM (which I am assuming is what RICK is describing) and the NN values. Should I use the above numbers??? Will I need to reset these everytime my passenger list changes?

I think Rick is talking about the prop. KDW controls how aggressively the system controls speed corrections. The more weight in your boat, the higher the KDW setting should be. Normal setting is 80. You might try bumping that up to 120 or so and see how that does.

I run with 2,700lbs and 13.75x16.00 and my KDW is at 220. I am never more then 1/2 hr off at any time. Except in the turns when PP has a tendency to freak out.

I adjusted my Perfect Pass last weekend to the recomended 120 on both, and it seemed to keep it from overshooting the speed as bad as it was before i adjusted it. i think I will do some more tweeking of it and see if I can get closer. The 120 is a great start.
