    Help choosing between a 210 and 220.

Hello everyone! I have been lurking and reading on here for awhile now and I am finally narrowing down to my choice for a boat...I think. Anyways, I am looking at both the 210 and the 220. I would like to know from those of you who have these boats, some of the pros and cons and features that you all like or don't like. Basically, I want more room (I am coming from a 21'6" bowrider and we are a family of 4), a better pull for wakeboarding and surfing, more storage, and a good ride in semi rough water. I am going to test drive each of these boats this weekend, but it always helps to have others opinion that have these boats, because there is a lot of difference in owning a boat and riding in one for a couple of hours. Thanks in advance guys. I look forward to talking to you.

RE: Help choosing between a 210 and 220.

I went from an 04 210 to an 08 220. The extra space in the 220 is great. You have a lot more room for storage and everyone's stuff. I know the wake is not as great as the 210, but i will eventually weight it to make it better so i know it has potential. The only con on the boat is that it is really weight sensitive. One person sitting in the wrong place can really throw off the wake. Other than that its a great boat. I think you will be happy either way you go.

RE: Help choosing between a 210 and 220.

      from my recollection:
      210 has a wider beam
210 has a great stock weight, and is easier to sink than the 220
      210 Less weight sensitive
From last year(07) there was only like a $300 difference between the 210/220

I think the newer 210's are bigger in general than the older 210's(???)
"awoolie" i have you seen the difference from a newer 210 and 220? Just curious.

        pros and cons

210 pros...very open seating...way better designed rear seat (easy to reverse and in the rear position much more comfortable)...ride seems quieter and smoother than 220 to me...best driving v-drive in the line up...nice wake for 98" wide boat...very cool non skid area to step in on from transom when seat is flipped down

210 cons...lack of cup holders towards rear seating area.

220 pros...trash can...port lean back storage is cool (hidden cooler underneath)...when sitting in one of back seats use engine notch as arm rest...boat sits higher in water(could be a pro or con depending on what you like)

220 cons...less interior space than 210 even though it is 1 ft longer...trash can and port lean back take up a lot of seating room...drives and handles good, but not as good as 210 to me.

Thanks for the quick replies guys! Keep em coming! I know that the 210 is one of the best wakeboarding wakes out there, but how hard is it to dial in the surfing wake...lot's of extra weight or what?

Surf wake? In this pic is girl driving (100lbs), me in the back (200lb) and a fat sac in rear locker and rear starboard ballast filled.

ya if u put an extra sack in one ski locker it makes all the difference, i also found that if u put some weight in the nose of the bow it helps out

the 220 is more weight senstive than the new 210, however, the wake is closer to the old 210 in terms of steepness than the new one. the surf wake is redic....

Well I tried out the 210 this weekend and that was it. No need to try the 220. I love the 210, the wake was great, and the surf wake with just stock ballast was huge with a great lip. Layout was great, now just have to see what numbers we can agree on. Thanks for all the imput guys, hopefull I will know something by the end of the week.

It may be late but i will throw in my opinion. I have had a 1995 210 (SS), 2005 211, 2007 220. I like the size of the 220, there is a lot of room in the interior. I like the size of the wake, with stock + vdrive sacs and a ski locker sac the wake is huge. The negative on the 220 is the the wake washes too easy below 24mph, its hard to keep a clean wake on both sides. I noticed they changed their advertising in the 2008 brochure, it now reads something like "if you like to ride on a longer rope and go > 24mph, the 220 is for you..."

Which bu? Did you go for the VLX? Do a search here, there are members who had one of those, only happy to get rid of it. I'm pretty sure that boat requires ALOT of weight to get the wake you want.
