    RE: pros and cons

I own a CC because my Malibu VLX turned out to be a POS. Everytime I took it out there was an issue. Transmission leak x3, Trans slipping when I traded it, Lost all throttle 2Xs.... and only 60 hrs on the boat.

Had my CC 100 hrs now and 0 performance issues. I think Malibus look nice, esp w/ Illusion X, but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Trust me, Ive been there.
What did you pay for your Bu'? Im assuming VLX?

I regularly ride behind a 04 vlx (now called vride) and a 06 vlx. with the proper weight they both have a great wake. I am not a malibu fan, especially of the interior seating, dash, driver controls, and quality, but i have to admit the wake is great.

Problem with 06 VLX with 60 hrs:
          Power Wedge inop X2
          High Idle X2
Leaked all fluid out of transmission X2
          Lost all Throttle X1
Tranny slipping as I traded it in.. dealer noticed it

          Problem with 07 210 w/ 100 hrs:
          Rust on emblem

          Best of luck!

Layout was great, now just have to see what numbers we can agree on. Thanks for all the imput guys, hopefull I will know something by the end of the week.

              Para,
what about the 210 do you prefer to the 220? Is the 210 that much more consistent with the wake? Can you ride slower and keep the wake clean? How much extra ballast are you running?

              thanks,
              Jack

Miljack - the new 210 is so stable, the wake never washes out even when it is listed, you can also ride much slower and still have a clean wake unlike the 220 where you need to go faster, we run stock ballast and the wake is huge compared to any other boat I have seen stock. It is also bigger than my old 95 super sport with 1500lbs of weight in it. I just cannot stop raving about this boat, it is amazing.

My guess on the washy wake on the 220 is that it is too much of a deep v and not flat enough on the bottom, which causes it to roll too easy. Whichever side the rider pulls out on the boat rolls towards them, and the other side washes. I only got to use mine for the last two months of summer last year, so this year I may experiment with loading the front more to see if that helps. I do know overloading the rear makes it porpoise even in calm water. I have wondered if power trim tabs would help the 220.

that doesnt bother me at all. it is a washy wake on the launch side that is a PITA. when you start to cut, the 220 almost always settles down...
