    restoring 1991 SN

we are in the process of restoring our 1991 SN and i am trying to find out what the material that is located right forward of the ski platform and then again on top of the transom...it looks to me like a really thin neoprene material..if anyone knows what this material is or where to find it that would be greatly helpful

    RE: restoring 1991 SN

Im not sure what it is, but I replaced mine with plain black hydroturf. Its a bit thicker (1/4") but I prefer the look. Ill have to snap some pics. It was very easy to work with- it cuts with scissors or a blade, and its sandable- so you can get the shape exactly right.

Is it the Isodamp material they use to reduce noise and vibration?

I have been looking for the same thing for my 93 SN. It is no longer available per Woody at SECC.
It is basically adhesive backed nonskid. I haven't tried west marine yet but if i find anything i will let you know.

Mcmaster carr has some similar material(mcmaster.com). It is not sandable, but make sure you get it in the right spot the first time as it will not move. Had some on my 99 for a couple of years and works great.
