2008 210 Trailer Info

So I've been looking at a new 08 210 and when I went to check it out today, I ran across a possible deal-breaker. The trailer that it is on now is a Ramlin Tandem Axle with swing away tongue. From the floor to the tower break section is 89". My garage is a standard 7' (84") garage. Does anybody know of different trailers that might possibly sit low enough to fit in my garage? Does anybody else out there have a new 07+ 210 that they keep in the garage with a standard 7' opening?

You might want to find a boat with the Titan tower. It folds down lower. I also have a 7' door, and there was no way for me to get my '03 210, my '07 236, or my '08 230 through that door. All were on Ram-Lin trailers.

Jeff, your '03 210 wouldn't fit in the garage? Both Chad and I have '03 210's on Ram-Lin trailers in 7' garages. Mine is really close, but it still fits. I could understand the 236 and 230.

Well, let me make a modification to what I said. The 2003 210 wouldn't fit in the garage due to length, so I never tried getting it in. It didn't look like it would have fit, but maybe it would have.

OKay, that makes sense. Mine is close... I have about 1/2" to spare. If I raise the trailer tougue all the way up with the winch it will not clear. The point Chad and I were talking about was most homes are built with 7' garage doors. Why would a boat manufacturer built something that used to fit and make it not fit anymore? Like he said, a possible deal-breaker.

The problem with the 210 is that it is so wide. The boat will not fit between the wheel wells of the trailer, therefore, the boat sits up higher off the trailer than most boats. I've seen the boat on several different trailers (usually the EZ Loader with the 20 in wheels), and they were all the same way. (Of course the 20 in EZ Loader is way too tall anyway.)

Even though the 220 is a larger boat, it is narrower, so it will fit between the wheel wells on the trailer, making it able to go under lower garage doors. You may have to look at the 220 instead of the 210 unless someone else knows of a trailer manufacturer that can make the 210 fit between the wheel wells.

OKWAKEBDR, we measured the trailer between his 03 Ram-lin and the 08 Ram-lin and the 03 model was wider at the fenders and tires. The rails of the frame were wider on the newer trailer, but the bunks were the same width. It looked as if the 08 boat would fit on the 03 trailer, but it was too close to tell for sure without putting the boat on the older trailer. Rough measurements looked as if there would be about 1 inch clearance on either side of the fenders.

We have an 08 210 on an "Extreme Trailer" these are the trailers Croft Marine in UT puts all their boats on, we also have the new Titan tower on it (it folds down lower and is much easier to fold down), the boat fits in the garage with ease, and it is a standard height also, I would not switch to a 220 just because the boat will not fit in the garage, I personally think the 210 is a much better boat.
