will thru hull for ballast work for perf pass pad wheel?

i am going to be putting perf pass on my 2001 SAN and a custom ballast but will be using a new thru hull location for the ballast. Could i use the factory thru hull to place my perfect pass paddle wheel? I know the stock strainer thru hull is molded in, would that disrupt the water flow over the paddle wheel?

You can try it first, but odds are that there will be turbulence at the paddle-wheel at riding speed. I would just drill the hole in the hull and be done with it, yes it's hard to go and put a new hole in the hull, but odds are you will have to do it anyway to make the PP work properly.

i am not to worried about putting a hole in there but just thought it would be nice to fill the existing with something

What factory thru hull are talking about using? The Perfect pass uses like a two inch hole and "MUST" be in specific place to work properly. I put mine oposite the water intake and the ballast intakes towards the back of motor box.

I put mine on port side slightly in front of the thru hull (10-12inches). I send some pictures to PP and got the response that I should place it there. No turbulance.
We used that boat for 2 years without a problem, PP was great in holding speed (within +-0.3MpH). At wakeboarding and wakesurfing speed!

I CANT WAIT TO HAVE PERFECT PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I find myself not riding some days becuase some of my friends give such poor pulls.
