Just starting to play around with surf wave on my 210. What is everyone else doing for setups? I did full ballast, plus a 400lb sack in bow, 3 people in boat, NSS at 3 and 10.8mph. This produced a very respectable wave. Any tips on dialing it in further? ArchCityBlues, can you chime in since you have had your boat a while now?

Had our new 210 out this last weekend for the second time... Pro ballast plus an extra 200 lbs in the port locker. NSS 3-4, speed 10.5 Wave is much steeper than it looks in the photo with a nice sharp lip.
Has anybody removed the hard tanks from a 2014/15 210 yet? Looked at it the other day and not sure how easy they'd be to remove. Although the wave with pro ballast is nice, I want to push the limits. Or should I keep the tanks in and find a sac that fits the locker?

My latest tinkering was port full, belly full, starboard 5/8, a 400 in the bow, and a 400 on the port seats. NSS at 4. Hydrogate on Vert. Speed 10.8. Wave was a good combo of length and push, but I don't have any pics. Should be out on Wednesday and I will snap a few pics. F725, I would just get 750's to piggy back instead of taking out the hard tanks.

Just getting my 2015 210 out on the water and did some surfing this weekend. Was disappointed in the length or better said lack of length of the wave. I'm completely new to the whole surfing thing coming from a SN200 but I had to be up almost to the swim platform to get some decent push. Also the wave seem to break early. I'm running full ballast (with the Pro Ballast System), NSS at 1, and 10.8 mph. The one difference I see from the setups above is adding bow weight. Will that help the length of the wave? Do I really need to fill fat sacs again to get a decent wave.

Jharris, if you're only running the NSS at 1, you're not going to get much push from the wave. We usually don't have our NSS anything below 3. Bow weight will lengthen the wave but too much will flatten it again. It's really easy to piggy back a bag under the front seats. Our wave with pro ballast is very good, but I'm never satisfied with very good. I'm interested in adding the ballast to get the best wave, at least the best wave possible out of a 210. Our 2012 and 2013 210's, we plumbed in extra ballast and we were making an insane wave. I know our 2014 will do better yet. I just have to figure out the right combo.
Seachicken, Wakemakers said they'd make a custom bag for the back locker (600 lbs) for $225 each. I'm guessing since the side engine panel has already been braced that the 750's do not cause a problem? That'd be the cheapest way to go.
I'll probably piggy back a bow sack as well.

Chopp, I removed the rear hard tanks and plumbed 1100's in each rear locker. I also piggy backed the 650 under the seats in the bow.
Port side: rear full (port side), belly and bow full, starboard about 75% full. NSS usually around 3 and Hydrogate at 1-2. Speed around 10.5-10.8
Starboard side: Almost complete opposite of port, more adjusting with NSS and Hydrogate to get the desired wave.
If it was just 2 or 3 of us out surfing, we'd throw an extra 350lb sac on the side seat (surf side).

Went out yesterday and got a nice wave going. Setup with pro ballast was Port full, Belly full, Starboard 1/2 full. 400 sac in nose, 750 sac in floor of cockpit, and 400 sac in port seats. NSS at 5. Hydrogate on Vert and 11mph.1 Photo

Seachicken, wave looks nice and clean. That's a lot of extra weight in the floor... have you tried adding more to the port locker? Our wave grew quickly when we added more locker weight. We didn't have any on the seat or floor and just 2 adults in the boat.

Hokie, there were a few things I did not take into account when I got the G23 such as it exceeding the boat lift's weight limit with a full tank of gas or having to travel all the way across the lake to fill up with premium gas since it was the 550 motor. I had a lot going on that year with school and residency and just decided to go back to a 2005 210 for a little while to ditch a boat payment. I'm settled back down now and the new 210 fits my needs just fine. The G23 was pretty sweet though, just didn't need that much boat. F725, I have not added any port locker weight because I like my storage trays, but I may try that. Did you just throw a sac on top of the pro ballast sack or how did you do that?
