FYI - Wakemakers now has "exact fit" 650 lb bags for the 2014+ 230. I was about to order something based on what I've learned from this great thread, until I learned about WM's new product. Placed my order yesterday.
And no, these are not designed to accommodate the storage bins.

I'm thinking about ordering the 2079 as a primary prop and keep the 1235 for backup. Was there a significant difference? How bad does the fuel usage get?
I was thinking of doing this as well...never cruise above 25mph so i could care less about top end.
As another datapoint, I had a 2014 230 with the ex343 that I weighted with 800lbs of lead mostly in the bow and 750's in the rear. I initially had the 1235 and switched to the 2079 prop because it struggled to get on a plane for wake boarding. I never had an issue with surf speeds. If you only plan to surf with full ballast then the 1235 should be fine.

Im in the same boat here. 1235 stock prop with 343. Have the 750s plumbed in with wakemakers divider supports. No issues with surfing with 8-10 people. I also took the trays out the first day and put them in the basement. They look nice but we just throw the jackets on top of the bags. No way you can keep the trays in when you completely fill the bags. No bow weight for me.
I ordered the support brackets right away based on what everyone on here recommended. I'm going to add a couple more divider pins this winter just to keep them from sliding up. Put you certainly need them with the 750s.....they'll bend your stock bracket

I gotta thing a 12" pitch prop on that boat is going to SCREAM! I ran the 1617 on my 210 (it won't clear more than 14 inch prop), and it was perfect. I had similar ballast as you and the exact same engine (although some of my weight was in the front) - we were 80% wakeboard 20% surf. I highly doubt you'd need any more than the 1615 on that boat (14.5 x 13.75)

Great to hear, thanks Jeff! Did you try it without the supports and then need them or did you buy the supports right away?
1235 works great w 343 not sure that I'd change it.
You can run the 750s with trays but not full. I've not t figured out the urge for the tray....in most cases we throw wet jackets back there with no trays . I'm not sure why I person would want them except for containing smaller stuff and they look good.. Ours have been in attic since the first week. I guess the new owner can decide what they want to do with them.

Any chance you could post some video/photos of the surfwave?
Yes sir for sure. I'll post pictures of the boat and introduce it later today assuming we pick it up today. Then as soon as I get the new custom sacs and finish tweaking the wave I'll post pictures of it.

You know what, you're probably right on this. I was just gun shy because the boat I am coming from struggled with the 1235. However, I was also running 5,600 lbs of weight in that boat as opposed to the 3,300 pounds or so I will be running in this boat.
I should pretty much know for sure today though, the stereo should be finished and we should be able to go out and give her a try!
