As another datapoint, I had a 2014 230 with the ex343 that I weighted with 800lbs of lead mostly in the bow and 750's in the rear. I initially had the 1235 and switched to the 2079 prop because it struggled to get on a plane for wake boarding. I never had an issue with surf speeds. If you only plan to surf with full ballast then the 1235 should be fine.

I also took the trays out the first day and put them in the basement. They look nice but we just throw the jackets on top of the bags. No way you can keep the trays in when you completely fill the bags. No bow weight for me.

I ordered the support brackets right away based on what everyone on here recommended. I'm going to add a couple more divider pins this winter just to keep them from sliding up. Put you certainly need them with the 750s.....they'll bend your stock bracket

I'm thinking about ordering the 2079 as a primary prop and keep the 1235 for backup. Was there a significant difference? How bad does the fuel usage get?

I was thinking of doing this as well...never cruise above 25mph so i could care less about top end.

FYI - Wakemakers now has "exact fit" 650 lb bags for the 2014+ 230. I was about to order something based on what I've learned from this great thread, until I learned about WM's new product. Placed my order yesterday.

And no, these are not designed to accommodate the storage bins.

I can't recall the exact dimensions, but it's not a traditional rectangular shape -- it's a laser-meaured fit designed to use all of the available space (hence "Exact fit"), which allows for 650 lbs of ballast. I was also told that divider reinforcements aren't needed.

I think there are 2 ports on top, and one for the drain/fill.

Hope this helps. I'll post pics when I get them installed. Can't wait.

Did you ever buy the 2079 prop to try? I still haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

I did....however it was at the start of last season and I never switch back to the 1235 for a direct comparison. I DO think it gets on plane better but to me nothing stood out as a "WOW" factor....mostly just bought it as a second prop so I could have a back up and keep my reworked 1235. That probably does nothing to actually answer ur question so my bad there. I really do need to do a day with one prop and switch to the other prop the next day and compare.....to be continued I guess!

I finally took a picture of the 650lb "ExactFIT" upgrade from Wakemakers. We're loving this setup. With these and the belly filled, I'm getting a ton of push way back on the wave -- with only a driver in the boat. I'm 200 lbs and ride a Sweet Spot board.

Looks like a nice fit. Post some video if you can. I still find the boat is best with some mid weight or bow weight. Waiting to pull the trigger on an IBS setup.

I thought I'd need more bow weight, but I surf at 11.5 and my boys at 12.3, which lengthens the wave quite well.

Don't your surf tabs retract when you go past 12mph?
