Looking forward to seeing more progress on this thread. Even in Florida the water gets chilly over the Winter and we are looking forward to the Summer. Small clip from this weekend. Still getting used to my new/proper wakesurf board.

Nice! Can't wait to get the boat out. Have had a cold April so far here in Alberta. Is that an Inland Surfer board? Kinda looks like my Blue Lake. Was your ballast set up same as last post? I'm thinking about buying the Nauticurl Shaper. Will use that and my home made one together. I've heard of guys doubling up on shapers with good results.

Drone shot from surfing with same ballast setup as last year- I have upgraded my PerfectPass from paddle wheel to GPS (stargazer). Speed was around 10.5mph and the GPS system seems to keep the speed much more consistent- was riding the 6'-4" ocean board. Will upload video later.

So I finally got on the water last week, new shaper and all ready to go....and then I dropped the shaper! Bye bye she went to the bottom of the lake before I could grab it. Was actually in the process of tying a bouy to it so it would float....ugh. So didn't get out after all. Will be out again Aug long. with another shaper in hand. (lanyard/bouy tied on land before hand!!!) Hah.

Noooo, that is awful! Was it a new homemade shaper or did you end up buying one?
Here is the video that I pulled that shot from:

Ya my shaper was home made. Went with a little larger shape this time. 11x16 or20" I think it was (more the size of the Ronix version) and could be used on both sides. Wanted to try that vs the extension I had for the spray pocket earlier in the thread. Plan to make the same thing again.

I'm interested in how that size of shaper works out- been wondering about a larger one myself.

New Nautique owner here. That is, new to owning a Nautique, not an owner of a new Nautique.
Do any of you have photos of your boats sitting still in the water? Is there enough freeboard to be somewhat safe? I'm encouraged to see such nice wakes, but the numbers you guys are posting make me nervous. I've got two 650's and the factory 400, plus a Mission Delta. I'm going to give that a go this weekend.

I have 2000 Air Nautique. We took it out last weekend with hopes of surfing, but my 12 volt outlets were dead so I couldn't pump water. Last fall, right when we bought the boat, we bought the Delta and used the single 1200lb sac the seller gave us. There wasn't a good place for a single sac that size so we didn't quite make a big enough wake to surf, but he shape was great. We also got a bit bigger board, so that should help too.

MLars that looks great! Got any vids? I also found a YouTube vid called "how to get a good surf wake with a Direct Drive boat" and the guy had a similar setup to you with a lot of weight up front. I think I'm gonna give that a try to lengthen out the pocket. Let us know how it goes with the extra 750. I won't get out till July long.
