Go Surf Assist Install on OG 210

Started putting my GSA system on recently... going well, photos attached. I'm stuck on what to do with the swim deck. I do not want to leave this as is with the GSA tabs sticking past the deck. I'm worried about someone getting hurt or the tabs getting damaged. My deck is linex over wood right now. I was looking at re-making a deck from coosa composite board, but i'm not sure what thickness is appropriate. Also that stuff is expensive. A 4x8 sheet of 3/4" is ~$300. I'm also looking at prices from some companies that do custom decks. One feature i look for is the ability to back-in park against a piling at the dock. Fiberglass and wood get beat up parking like this and I refuse to get one of those crappy swim decks bumpers.

Does anyone have any experience making a heavy duty deck or good experience with a company that does them?

I'm interested to see what you end up with but don't have much to add. I don't have the tabs to contend with but I'd like to go with a bigger platform on my 99 Super Air.

There was a guy on here a while back that built his own teak G23 Swim platform. Maybe he’ll chime in. Then you can just template what you want to do.

I’d be worried about changing size and shape of platform too much. That platform really extends the curvature of the boat and I’d hate to see the new deck interfere with water flowing around the boat and messing the wave up?

I agree, if you make it much bigger it will dig into the wave, id suggest running the stock one until you see how this system works with your boat.

Yes I even thought about the tabs but wasn’t sure if this had been done on an OG before with this particular kit? Looks can be deceiving. Only one way to find out!

those look massive on your boat compared to others i've seen it installed on. i would water test first to make sure you don't need to change anything with the tabs, then worry about the platform.

Is anything protruding beyond the side of the hull when they're fully retracted? It's hard to tell from the photo. I don't think you want anything doing that...

Ryan with GSA told me to adjust them up more. He thinks the install looks real good. I keep forgetting that when the boat's on plane these things are way out the water. The bit of drag they might see are only at low speeds. Going to finish the wiring and go for a test soon
