I would say if you make the platform bigger, it will dig into and effect your wave and would be careful about that. Wave looks nice and clean, nice install.
All the after market surf tabs stick out some that I have seen. I have different surf tabs on my boat from InfinityWave Surf Shop that I installed in April of this year. They produce an awesome wave on my boat too, create excellent push with the fins directing the water toward the wave similar to GSA. I have the surf size swim platform, these tabs are not as long as the GSA but are a bit wider, so that is where they stick out some on my boat. I just make sure anyone new makes sure to watch out for them, not too different from the center trim tab or boats with FAE. I have all 4 and so far no issues with anyone getting hurt.

Alright everyone... I just surfed yesterday for the first time, and now I am trying to figure out if it’s worth kitting out the OG210 hull with GSA or similar.
I see the waves and think they look great, but not sure if it’s worth the investment over a suckgate... thoughts?

It really depends on how much you go out. Occasionally? suck gate. Frequently? GSA! You get your steering back and easier to deploy. And better on the motor ( gas too ) since it's lifts the rear out the water. Be aware though.. Weighting of the boat is different with the GSA compared to the suck gate. Need a bit more ballast in the rear.Comment

I have a 2001 SAN.... would the GSA work on that hull as well? Im thinking of adding this to my boat instead of spending money for a a new boat! I have 750 sacks in the back and a 500 in the ski locker.... was also thinking of adding some bow weight, but might just get the GSA instead. Do you still really like it? I know this thread is 2 years old!Comment

Still using it! Love it! Only regret was mounting the actuator plate a little off. Bothers me. System has never have me a problem though

There are definitely pluses and minuses to GSA and depending on the boat and use there will be more in one category or the other. With the cost of new or even used boats with Covid pricing added in the case for modifying what you have keeps looking better especially if you have the boat paid for. GSA works well without a doubt but there is a form/function/cost/safety calculation that needs to be worked out on a case by case basis. I've seen these systems implemented on some MCs and they look as if they could have been an OEM system that tucks up nicely under the platform. I've also seen installations like post #18 that look like a nightmare safety issue just waiting to happen. I get the chills just thinking of someone slipping off the platform or worse yet the sundeck and sliding into that meat slicer of a surf tab. There's no way I personally could (or my wife would let me) put a tab system that stuck out past my platform on my boat for fear that someone could slice themselves open. If surfing is your life and you need that crazy 6' wake to ride without the rope or practice your patented "double Lindy" surf move for the next tournament then buy the new boat as you'll never get that $175K surf boat wake out of your boat even with GSA. I also can't help but wonder if you're already at 2000 lbs of ballast and considering adding more weight if GSA would get you the wake you're looking for.Comment

Totally agree with the safety issue stand point. I have a few things to finish up on the boat before I make the jump to GSA… or something else (or just stick with the suck gate). Thank you guys for all your insight and input!

btuner has a good point about the tabs sticking out. I kind of forget about it now tbh. I'm just used to it. I was very worried about it the first season. Here his is a pic of how mine sits with the warning labels. I personally never had an incident, and we spend a lot of time at the sandbar. For me, and where we surf (narrowish river) not having my steering in both directions with the delta was a bigger safety risk. The GSA automatically retracts and even deployed has was less impact on steering and control. Especially if someone less experienced is driving.
honestly, last season I used my GSA for plane assist while wakeboarding with heavy ballast more so that I used it for surfing. That feature was important for me for wakeboarding and taking load off my engine.
This season i want to see what the wave does with the GSA and the mission! just for curiosity.
All good points. Just weigh out what's important to you and set your expectations appropriately.

New deck in the works. Wider to cover the tabs. Tested it with a template and it didn't mess with the wakeboard or surf wave.
