i left 100# under the observer seat. the other 100# i placed under the port flip up seat if someone was riding the port wave or if i was waterskiing. the boat port lean was very noticeable when skiing and just my wife or kids in the boat.
if we were surfing the starboard side, i put the 100# under the driver's feet

Anyone have photos or a decent video of the regular side wave with at least pro ballast setup? We are considering a 2020 GS 22 and have my reservations of moving from our 2018 210 to the GS and would love to see some action shots. If we do the GS we will do the 800's in the rear and move my 500 pounds of lead over to this boat. So we will be weighted down.

Thank you, and that’s the 2020 hull? Did you put the lead rear biased or midship?

This is my 2019 (for sale in classifieds). The gs’s seem to like a more equal weighted setup. I have 350 in rear and 250 in bow. I used to have 300 split evenly but the bow was easier to swamp with people up there so I shifted to help that.

I have been visiting this site religiously for the past month. I want to say thank you to the admins and those that contribute. The knowledge base here was/is extremely informative.

In November, I demoed a 2020 G23 and 2020 GS22, cross shopping them both. I ended up ordering a custom 2020 GS22, which should arrive in late January. My needs were to ski 30%, surf 50% and boat ride the other 20% (excuse the unnecessarily exact percentages).

My friend, a good recreational skier, found the ski wake surprisingly good. He is extremely picky and arrived that day with with low expectations. The surf wave too was surprisingly good. I cannot compare the 2020 to 2019 hull, but I have been behind several G23s, and we also surfed a G23 that day. I cannot say it is as good as the G23, but in complete stock form (with pro ballast), I was pleased enough to immediately place a deposit, and order a GS22.

My apologies, guess there is more to this one than me dealer sent me, I will watch the video, and thank you.

it frustrates me that right after i buy my boat, they change the hull to make the surf wave better. looks like the changes address the "lip" that is 3/4 the way up the wave.
anyway, my boat with pro ballast had a very good wave. now with wakemakers 800# bags, it is incredible. I also have 200# of lead in the boat, 100# under port observer seat, and 100# under driver. I have never surfed a G23, so i cannot compare. I like the versatility of the GS. I can empty all the ballast and have a very good ski wake.

Wakemakers used my boat to design and develop the exact fit bags for the GS22. at some point, nautique changed the configuration of the pro ballast. So the original nautique bags I received would not work. I actually took my boat to them so they could measure, build, install, etc... the new bags.

How are the new wake maker bags in your boat? I just took delivery of my new GS22 yesterday and cant wait to head home after work and try some of these suggested settings and start to dial in my wave. We havent had rain here in a month so our lake is a little lower than normal which definitely effects the wave.
