I have two questions. Last year I learned how to surf. I am a big guy. 6'3 300lbs. I had a hard time learning to surf fast enough to be able to let go of the rope. After a while I figured it out. Throughout the summer I progressed to being able to carve a bit but not much more. I purchased a phase five board from a recommendation by our dealer. This year we purchased a 2020. I know its the same as our 2019 as far as a wave is concerned but I feel like I'm moving so much slower. I have to put almost all my weight on my front foot. Any carving causes me to stall and thats it. My settings are as follows...NSS 0. NCRS 5 All ballast 100% full. Are these the best settings for a big 300 pounder to get enough push to be able to have enough speed? Or is it simply a mechanical issue with how I surf? Second question is other than the kong what board can anyone recommend that is good for my size but will be faster than the Kong? Sorry for the drawn out post.
