Ski rope angle off the pylon ?

Have a 79 nautique going thru a rebuild, (thread in the resto section). It has a monster tower that i'm 50/50 putting back on, really needs a bimini but while looking at where they attach vs where the tower was mounted it finally dawned on me about the ski rope.

the towers rear legs are mounted in line port thru starb w/ the pylon and it looks goofy. The guy i bought the boat from is tall and i just figured it was positioned that way so he wouldnt hit his head.

so how many degrees or how far up the gunnel would the rope go just recreational skiing?
If the tower goes back on i would want to move the rear legs backward (rear of dog box) or until there is only 6' headroom under the tower
    front legs as needed.

Would look so much better without the tower!

We turned the rear legs around to swoop out and it was much better except it looks like it could hit something, do you mean swoop backwards because it will articulate around all kinds of ways

agreed it looks better w/o, 50/50 it goes back on

trade it for a used fly hi pole, or complete non broken widshield !
i can't even source the rubber for it to put acrylic in the frame

It doesn't answer your question, but I'd go without, too.

Without actually going out, it's tough to say how far out a so rope will go. Depends a lot on the skier. Of course, if we're just talking recreational skiing, it wouldn't be the end of the world if the rope occasionally hits the tower (however ugly the tower is).

When I pull out to start skiing I get as high on the boat as I can. Ideally nearly 90 to the pylon.
I agree those old skis look sleek without the tower.
