    2021 G-25 / Ballast upgrade?!

Are you satisfied with the stock ballast? If you are adding ballast please let me know what you are adding and where? I am not very pleased with the stock ballast. Anyone else feel same? Any insight on best set up appreciated!! THANKS

check out the "2022 G23/25 get more ballast" thread...someone added bags and it worked perfectly with the system.

To do that you first need to remove the rear cushions and then the engine hatch wall. You will need another helper or two to lift out the floor.

Coming from both prior generations of the G25, I felt the new model was good but did need additional weight to be great. I added 900 pounds of lead 400 under each side of the tower and 100 upfront. The wake/wave now is incredible. It seems with the new Hull no matter what the amount of ballast you choose to add, it seems to have a larger impact than the prior gen hulls.

THANK YOU for your input! I have 1200lbs of lead ordered. Gonna try that. Just hate to haul boat 60 miles with that added on trailer.

Fortunately I don’t have to trailer, but I will tell you DO NOT need that much lead to get what you are looking for. I would start with 700 underneath the tower and I think you will be shocked with the results. I watered tested both the Paragon 23 & 25 no additional ballast but I did take 650 lbs of lead with me to the G25 water test and that is what I purchased.

Would you trailer the boat with all that weight?

I did once. I never thought about it until I got to where I was going. Good thing it was a triple axle trailer.

Well, 1950 was too much, it looked terrible. 1200 probably be alright. you will know pretty quick.

I couldnt tell by towing. I use a 1 ton dually. But when I got out and saw how much the trailing was weighing down on the tires. Man they looked like flat tires. And the fender from the trailer was on the tires.

Funny you ask. I got back on the forum to try and figure out where I am gonna add the extra weight. I dont think I am gonna add 1950. I will add 1000 in lead today. Lets see what that does..... Honestly, the best wave I have ever had was a 2019 G25 with the 1950 added..... However the new G and P handle a ton better then the old boats in my opinion so the trade off was more then worth it.
