Our lakes are still ice covered, and it is currently snowing here.

Icy lake? Ouch… I'm in Austin and it was 98 degrees yesterday. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing but it's definitely boating weather out here

I have a 2000 Air Nautique. I’ll tell you how I set it up and that might give you an idea for your setup since it so similar. I use the factory 400 lb hard tank, 650 on either side of the engine, and 325 fills the ski locker. I use a Mission Delta. When we have four people we put the two not driving on the surf side in the back. With that I can surf for miles, though the wake is not huge. I have actually seen some first timers do really well without a rope because the don’t have a massive wave pushing them into the boat. We use a Slingshot Gnarwhal.

Thanks for the recipe… it's definitely better than buying a new boat

              For sure!

Another thing I might mention, is caution with the advice to buy a big board. You may need to size up a bit, but don't get carried away. We started with a 4' 6” Happy Pill and it was fun, but tough to stay on the wave. Then we bought a Rocket, I forget the size, but big. It was no fun. You could park it in the pocket, but it totally lacked maneuverability. Next we tried a 4' 10” Gnarwhal. It is more maneuverable so it is easier to move around in be in the right place and way more fun to ride.

All that said, we pretty much stopped surfing. Slalom skiing is our jam now!

Oregon85- since we have a similar model boats I decided to use your recipe. I just bought two 400 pound bags and a pump. Now I just need the two 650 bags and the wakeshaper then plumb everything in. I'm supper stoked about this

Have you ever had issues with law enforcement for being over weight? If your Air is the same as my 2000 Sport with your set up you would be 775lb over weight without people onboard.
With my 2000 Sport and have been able to make a large enough wave for the kids but would have to add more weight to push the larger adults which would put me over the 1250lb legal max weight.

We are probably at least 1500 over weight with ballast and gear. No problem with law enforcement. I’ve never once been checked for anything. The word from friends who have is that they really only care about the number of people on the boat.

ID:	657155 I got the whole set up done but now I’m trying to get a better wake. I ordered this product called Flipsurf. They claim to be better than the rest because it has a better mounting base but I was wondering if anyone here has experience with it

I used one on my old MB Sports B52 and decided to try it on my GS20. Installed it last week and have used it a few times. I really like it as it is very easy to use once you have the base installed on the hull. So far it seems to really improve the wave. As both my wife and I surf goofy, the starboard side wave is not great to begin with. Additionally, it folds up and stows away nicely. The only disadvantage is that it removes your ability to use Surf Select on the fly. FlipSurf is a small company and the customer service is great! When you call, you speak with the owner and he is very helpful in answering questions or helping with setup.

I've seen a Lot of good reviews about it. I was a little skeptical but decided to go ahead and give it a try. I'll probably have to attach a tether or something so that I won't lose it if it comes off

Speedy I also attach a tether to mine, however, in about 15 times using it, it has never come off. Just make sure it's properly attached to the base plate when you're installing it. You have to make sure the notch on the front is under the lip of the base plate and that it is in the channel so that the magnets are fully engaged.

Surfing is a modern equivalent to tubing very little skill and ruins the water for everybody else.
