Hi all, this is my first post. I purchased a pre-owned 2020 G23 this past winter. The boat is in excellent condition, was stored on a lift in VA. The boat had about 140 hours at the time of purchase. This is my 5th Nautique (1984 2001, 1995 Sport, 2005 SV 211, 2008 Super Air TE 230)
Over the winter, I kept it in a storage facility in PA where I had it connected to the factory installed battery tender. This spring I launched the boat. Everything seemed to operating as designed with the only exception being that battery 2 (stbd as indicated on the nautique app) was not maintaining charge while I am away. In fact, as it was losing voltage, the factory installed stern thruster became inop. The boat is kept in the water on a fresh water lake in MD. We have floating docks so i cannot leave the battery tender plugged in while i am away.
Last weekend, i decided to replace both batteries, installing Group 31 Interstate marine grade batteries. I used the boat for 5 days over the 4th weekend. The stern thruster was working again and all was well. I left Thursday and checked the app again today. Battery 2 voltage (according to the app) has dropped from 12.7v in the green to 11.7 now in the red. I contacted the dealer and they suggested one possible draw could be linked to the stern thruster actuator not disconnecting and thus creating a continuous draw. I am searching for any suggestions or ideas anyone may have of what to look for or ways to create a temporary solution. Could i disconnect battery 2 to prevent the draw and re-connect when i use the boat? Thanks in advance.
