    gs20 fuel filling problem

when i try to fill my gs20 with gas no matter how fast or slow i pump it or what marina (i have tried 4 now) it allows about 1.2 gallons then stops- told the dealer- they said they fixed it but never tried to put any fuel in the boat- so they didnt fix anything- anyone know what the problem is so i can tell them!

Does it matter if you fill from Port or Starbord, or does it happen regardless of which side you use?

If I remember right, some boats have this issue and I believe it's due to not venting adequately when filling. Have you tried taking the other fuel cap off when filling to see if that makes a difference? I know it's a pain, but in theory, it might help.

yes it happens on both sides. i have tried to leave the opposing side open when filling and it doesn't change anything. took it to the dealer and they claim they adjusted the check valves but neglected to tell me they never tested it so that was a waste of my time

Same same with a G23 Paragon. Had it checked twice. The issues is the weight of the fuel is not heavy enough to overpower the pressure in the tank and make it past the emissions flap when its hot. The solution is simple, but lame. Take a giant fat zip tie and loop it back through itself to create a loop in one end that us much bigger than the fill hole so the zip tie cannot fall into the tank. Put the zip tie on the opposite side that you are filling and it will push past the emissions flat and vent the tank while filling. Simple and it works great. Yes, lame that we have to do this…..

Agree with that, but I have not seen a fix yet. Let me know if you get them to come up with a solution.

We had a 2015 G23 and it did the same thing, the tech said that from the factory sometimes the fuel hose that runs along the sides that dump into the fuel tank have too much sag in them . So they get air lock in the line, take some of the droop out of the line it should fix it .
