    2008 SANTE prop help

I have a 2008 SANTE with the ZR6 motor. I believe I have the stock prop. My ballast set up is rear hard tanks removed, 750 sacs in rear lockers, stock belly tank, and a U shaped bag under the front seats, also have 250 lbs of lead in the center walkway as far forward as possible. This is basically the same setup a friend has in the same boat. My issue is nay more than 3 people in the boat and it takes for ever to plane out almost 4 times longer than my friends. So I realize i need to go with a prop with more bottom end torque instead of a top speed one such as the factory. My question is what should I go with and does anybody have one for sale. Thanks.

the acme 1235 prop on this boat is the “power prop†getting more low end torque. if you have that one, something is definitely wrong.
1st thing to check is the plugs. you should use these plugs: PN = RP03011. Stock Gap = 0.040â€Â. AC delco 41-110s are the same thing.
if that doesnt pep things up, then change the plug wires. PN = RK120021A

my rule of thumb is to change plugs every 2 yrs on this motor and change plug wires every 5 yrs. for some reason these plugs can go quickly or last a while.. they definitely do have a huge effect on performance

The hydrogate position also helps to get on olane. I start out with it forward (pushing the bow down), and then retract it accordingly once on plane and on speed. Generally i keep this full forward unless surfing or boarding

I’ve tested just about every prop known to man on this boat , i did a prop write up with all specs while back if you can find it in a search
      1579(original stick team prop)
      1235
      1433
      1617
      And now the latest 2571

There is no contest when it comes to running this boat loaded up. The 2571 is the big dog of holeshot in the line. I run 3k-3500 lbs for wakeboarding and it pushes me out of the hole with ease. Prior to the release of the 2571 the 1235 and 1617 were pretty close in performance. The 1235 beat it a bit, but the 1235 did leave prop burn on some boats over the years due to its larger diameter. So to avails having to “possibly “ deal with that I always stick with 1617. However I got a call from my buddy when ACME released the 2571 and it’s lived up to all its hype.

Yea you boat is a dog out of the hole due to the 1579. It won’t push that very well.

I run 1100’s in the rear. Fill them about 3/4 maybe bit more. Run piggy back 350 sac off my tank in the center ski locker under the floor , and rob 320 lbs of pop bags stuffed in then nose of the boat. 2571 pushes that all day long. So will the 1235.

I sometimes travel 25 minutes to a hang out spot. I primarily wakeboard so I am not slammed with weight. I have 1579 what happens to the cruise speed with big wheels?

I have almost the identical boat and had the same problem you're having. I run more weight than you, but changed to what would be your 1235 (My year is a different rotation, so i use the 1234). It changed the boat drastically. I added 1100's in the rear, nose ballast, stock belly tank and lead weight in the nose. We surf with pros and competitive wake surfers almost daily and almost always hear that our wave is one of the best. We consistently put it up against new boats' waves and have yet to find a reason to buy a newer boat. If you'd like to get more details, feel free to DM me.

I went with the 2571, this is def the prop to have, thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry I missed this. Your cruising RPMs will be upped just a bit. If you’re wakeboarding 50% /Cruising 50% or less swapping to a better prop with better hole**** will even out the fuel Economy. You’ll burn a little more cruising , but burn less on your holeshots . So Acme usually says if it’s 50/50 wakeboard cruise it’s time to upgrade. How aggressive of an upgrade depends on weight config. Where things get Dicey is if you’re still a crossover guy skiing. Up in the 32-35mph ranges you’ll see some high rpm’s that can affect fuel consumption

these new props don’t really cost you top end anymore. Designs now may cost you MPH or two tops. Thruster just more need specific and calculated for many different aspects.
