Just wondering if anyone is skiing with a GS20? I know its not a true ski boat but how is it? Looking for the 32-34mph at 22 range. Is it doable or is a wall?
Any info would be great!
Depends on how you intend to ski. Recreational skiing is fine. If you intend to run a course or cut like you are running buoys, then it is not what you are looking for.
I do understand, I have a boat and access to a course however I'm just looking for something that is more family friendly for going to public lake. I'm an agressive skier but not going to be breaking any records. LOL
Did my first set behind a V-drive the SV211 this morning. I went at 28 off 34 mph. The wake size itself wasn't too bad, but there must be a rooster shot because it was like hitting a parking curb directly behind the boat. My knee, ankle and leg will not survive the summer at that rate. Will go out at 32 off and see if that improves things.
The SV211 is around 3600lbs of boat. Total "divot" determines the wake characteristics. So the heavier the boat the worse you are off. Unless the surface area presented at planing speed is huge.
I was looking at videos of the GS series and Charlie trying to ski it. Didn't look too good. With Zero off you could go with a shaper, run slow, ski mush and have fun.
