2000 Air Nautique. Where have you guys placed your bags and had the best experiences with crisp uniform wakeboard wake

Right now I’m running 3x 400lb fly high bags plus a 150lb depending on how full or empty the beer cooler is .

Picture below is about the best I’ve got. You can see bag placement of two, the third bag is in the compartment behind where my daughter is sitting. Sometimes I put the 150lb bag between the back seat and hood sometimes in a seat to offset weight.

Rider is 125lb 5’8”
Rope length is 60’
Perfect pass is 20 mph

Curious to hear some input. I just sold my 98 air and bought a 2001 air.. very clean boat and well maintained I believe they are basically the same boats. The 2001 has a few upgrades that I really like. I have 3 fat sacs that I am going to try this weekend to see what kind of wave I get with a swell wake shaper as well. Gonna try to wake surf for the first time.

With that much weight in that small of a boat, you'll likely need to bump the speed up to clean up the wake. If you can get to 22-23 and still have the rider feel comfortable, the wake will likely clean up. Otherwise, dump some weight. If the boat is porpoising with that weight, move it forward, but be careful not to bury the nose in a stop. You're WAY over listed weight capacity in that boat.

I had a 1999 Sport Nautique. I ran a 800lb sac in the rear with the tanks removed and weight on the sides similar to your set up. You may want to experiment with a little bow weight to clean up the wake. Although you'll need to be careful about dipping the nose. Already an easy thing to do.

How much weight you guys recommend up front?

Put a bag in the ski locker or just on the seats?

I’d get as much as you can in the ski locker, at least 300lb and maybe 50-100 in the bow.

I was able to get out to the lake last weekend to do a test run.

I didn't fill sacks just because we were only gonna be out for an hour or two.

I did however play around with perfect pass speed and Jeff once again proves he's the man!

I bummed the speed from 20 to 21 without telling the wife just to see if she would notice. After her first run she asked what I did different because the wake was nice and even… small but nice and even.

We finished the day at 21.5 mph and she said she wanted to hold that speed from now on.

Going to go out all weekend fri-sun and I'll play with weight.
