    Surf wake gs22 help

I have a 2017 gs22 for a few seasons now and I’ve tried lots of different settings but the surfable portion is only a few feet long and kids wash out all time. It’s super noticeable when kids from tiges or other surf boats come ski with us and can’t really get much push. I can’t afford a G23, any other tips for improving the gs22 surf wake? (I know it’s the do everything boat, so compromises are made)

Klam00 try some 50 lb ballast bags. I would start out with 500 lbs and work from there. I run 700 lbs of ballast bags in my 2017 G23 all the time. Makes a world of difference in surf wave quality.

I have a 2020 GS22 and found that forward weight is critical to getting a good long wave. Too much weight in the rear and you get a very short wall. If there are only 3 people surfing (Driver, spotter, surfer), I put the spotter in the love seat or the bow. That being said, I have the Pro Surf option. But that has been the kicker. I once had about 7 people in the boat and pretty much couldn't surf because everyone was in the main area and none in the bow. Now, I'd put 2-3 people in the bow for that config. The rest on the surf side. After doing that, my wave is totally nuts.

Oh, and I play with the speed +/- .5 knots to dial in the length/sweet spot.

On topic, off topic - GMLIII, did I hear say you are running an extra supplemental sac along with the factory ballast? We run lead, and could probably use a little more, but when we load up the boat for the long weekends, I'm not a big fan of trailering all the extra weight. A sac on the floor would be great, and adjust accordingly for the size of the crew, but it's nice to finally be in a boat where you don't have to trip over anything. The wave is great, but it's always fun to experiment with, "am I missing anything, could it be better?"
