And one more simple but important modification. So everyone complains about the bow of these boats always being damp and smelling of mildew. I added a drain hole at the back end of the bow area. There is already one at the front but the front is usually the highest point so for all the complaints about bow carpet mildew in these older boats, this is why..... add a drain hole.

Did you think about cutting the wall(s) behind the hole to fit a larger belly sac. I have a 2002 as well and am thinking about getting rid of the belly tank and going with a larger sac. I have a FlyHigh rear seat sac that I can put in its place although it’s about 10” too long. I’ve heard it said that the tank is 300 lbs, but I roughly calculated it closer to 260-270. I think you can get a 50” long sac in there and be close to 400 lbs or so. Getting more weight up front in our boats seems to be the bigger challenge.

I used to know all kinds of stats on the under bow square footage. I was crazy back then, took a few years of therapy now I think I got my life back in order and am not consumed by this boat project….. Just kidding I’m still crazy, I just don’t get anything done. I had a custom under bow bag made for this project, it’s somewhere in the mass of parts I have scattered around…. I wanna say the bag I had made to fit was calculated at like 450 lbs. Most of the increase in weight came from all the unused space in front of the bow hard tank. Whether it actually fills to 450 I don’t know, my guess is you can get about 100 lbs more for sure going from hard tank to bag and filling that entire area with water.

not sure what the wall is your talking about behind the hard tank. I can’t remember what was there.

It's been nearly a year since I got on here and this project popping into my head is what made me log on. I thought for sure I'd be looking at a picture of the boat on the water...

The wall I was referring to is the divider between the belly tank and the space under the bow.

The hull stringers on the right and left of the hard tank? Those are the only walls I can think of not sure if that’s what your talking about but if so then no I wouldn’t cut into those that’s a major structural component of the hull. I’d have to see a picture of the wall your taking about to be sure because I don’t remember any walls (besides the stringers) when I removed my hard tank.

It’s the wall behind the hole you are pointing at in this picture. The more I think about it, you would be limited in gains and probably not worth the effort. You would have to cut more out of that area of where your hole is drilled as well.

Ahhh ok. That’s not a wall it’s just a step in the floor. It’s all open underneath from front of bow all the way back.

I just spent I don't even know how long reading all 18 pages of this thread and I only logged in tonight trying to find some gelcoat repairs tips. I'm blown away. And it hits very close to home as I have a 2000 PAN and can see my boat in most of the pictures. Have there been any recent updates?

This is an amazing restoration and I’ve been following it over the years. Mine is a 2002 SANTE with the same colour scheme. It’s like seeing what mine could be. Hope its still progressing as you are doing a fantastic job.

I just bought the exact same boat in July of '21. Stereo is my first $$ project that I want to do. So far just a new steering cable, plugs, wires and cap.

Oh, and find out why I can't keep my battery from dying all the f'n time.
