Put about an hour on it tonight, and it is running great! I'm trying not to drive it too much to keep the hours as low as possible, but it is such a fun boat that I can't help but want to drive it.

The windshieldless wonder (1999 SNOB) got kicked off of the lift for this boat.

Finishing up the few final things that this boat needs. I determined the issue with the oil pressure reading max all the time (of course it was the gauge since I already replaced the sender). Tested it with a spare gauge and it worked fine. New gauge on order from Nautique Parts. I also fixed the bent rear vent cover and reinstalled it.

I needed to replace the rear grab handle because it was bent. The bolts are on the backside of the transom, of course. I also had to figure out what was wrong with one of the speedometers, and I assumed it was the connection at the brass cylinder at the transom. So, like I almost always have to do with any boat I buy, I decided to pull the gas tank. Always fun...

Got the grab handle off without too much trouble. I did have to remove some spray foam from the back of the transom, and it was in good shape. I have a new grab handle on order. I also found the nut on the lifting ring shaft very loose, so I tightened that back up since I was back there anyway.

Turns out there was NOTHING wrong with the speedometer. I guess the stupid pitot tube was folded into the up position and I didn't realize it!! Testing it by blowing into the tubes by mouth made each speedometer advance as normal.

I also fixed the interior courtesy lights. Those hardly ever work on any of the boats I get. This one was no exception. Turns out the cause in this case was a bad breaker at the dash. I swapped it with one of the FOUR spare accessory breakers (none of which are in use), and the courtesy lights work as intended.



I also refinished the swim platform today. I didn't take a before picture (I never seem to remember to do that), but it was as bad as any of them. Super faded and almost white in color from lack of oil.

I never mess with those three-step restoration kits. They never seem to work as well as just lightly sanding off the bad layer of wood. Here it is after sanding it.



And here it is after ONE very light coat of oil. I ran out, and ordered another gallon, but that won't be here for a couple of days. I usually put about 15 - 20 coats on a platform when I restore them, since they normally haven't seen oil for several years. It'll look a lot better than this once I get some additional oil on it.



Well, that's about it for today. Gotta wait for the last few parts to arrive, and then I'll wrap this thing up and it'll be for sale!

Since I had the gas tank out, I decided to go ahead and do a full cleaning on the bilge and the carpet under the back seat. Pretty happy with how it came out.

Below is the before shot. After 22 years, this isn't too bad.



Below is a shot after cleaning just the bilge (not the carpet).



And here it is with the carpet cleaned and the gas tank back in place..



I also cleaned the carpet on the removable floor section. Here it is part-way clean.



And here it is completely cleaned. I just used a pressure washer with a medium tip. No soap or anything.



Tomorrow, after everything dries, everything goes back together. The new oil pressure gauge and a new stern light, since it didn't come with one, arrive tomorrow too. Then one final cleaning, and it'll be ready to list for sale.

Carpet cleaned up beautifully. Here it is before I installed the back seat base.



Interior is looking good.















I put another half hour on it tonight, so the hour meter is at 130.0.
