So just wanted to give an update on the twin engine Fish Nautique 2 of 3. I pulled all the hardware off and controls and sent it over to start all the fiberglass work. Will need all new stringers, flooring and complete gelcoat.

Too bad the stringers are bad. I was hoping at least those would be good.

It is going to be so cool having two twin-engine Fish Nautiques on this lake!

I was hoping the same but I figured I would bring it all back to new since it was going to be such an undertaking. Its at Walts now for him to get started on it. I see you got the engines out of yours there finally.

Yep. He's supposed to start working on mine again today. He said by October 1. We'll see!

My engines are in the process of being rebuilt right now. I am determined to have mine ready for spring!

I'm guessing this one isn't going to have the 1.3L Rotary Engines reinstalled? That would have been a trip to see and hear that.

No Ive decided to go back with 4.3s. I sold the rotary engines but want to keep the boat close to original and the rotary engines would've been a nightmare to keep up with I believe.

Here's a quick update on the fish nautique restoration. The floor is out and should start on the stringers soon.

Whoo I thought I had a big project with my 67 Mustang restore. That little boat is nothing compared to this. Good luck with the build just keep telling yourself its a labor of love.

Wow, I wouldn't even know where to get started on something like this let alone have pockets deep enough to fund this project. Good to see money going back into the local economy, especially during these times. You will truly have a unique and rare boat when the restoration is complete. Looking forward to your updates.

So after 2 years of the fish nautique just sitting and 0 progress I’ve went and picked to boat back up. I’ve taken it to a correct craft guy that’s out of SC and he’s already started working on it. He’s sending pictures daily. For engines you can no longer buy new 4.3s from mercury so ended up buying 2 new 350 MPIs blue water motors with zf hurth transmissions. Really disappointed the boat sat for so long with the person not doing any work at all.

Ugh... So sorry you ended up dealing with the same situation as me with that guy. What a pain...

I bet I know the guy you're using in SC. I am VERY interested to see the quality of his work, which is supposed to be superb. I may have to start using him too!
