I just ordered all new decals for this boat (every single one on the exterior of the boat).
Here's the worst of the gelcoat damage. It is at North Lake Fiberglass right now, and they are going to respray this entire side (all three colors). The white staining on the bottom of the hull came off with a good pressure wash, but the chips in the black on the bottom will require filling and a respray there too.
This is an expensive cosmetic restoration, but it will look incredible when we're finished!

Dang...from the water marks on the hull combined with the rub marks by the gunnel...I'd say this one sat tied up and uncared for next to a dock for a loooooong time. Personally hard to imagine doing that but I've seen those boats at our local marina.
Is the stainless part of the rub rail salvageable?

Jeff,
Can't wait to see this one after the respray. Northlake does amazing work!

Oh yeah, that's fine.
It already looks way better with just a pressure wash. They should be spraying it this week.

A neighbor bought a newSupra wakeboat and leaves it tied up to his finger dock for weeks on end. No doubt it will look pretty rough after a couple more years. He owns a wrap company so perhaps that’s his cure.
Stopped by the fiberglass shop today to see how this boat was coming along. They were working on sanding the fiberglass filler, and should be ready to spray it next week. Progress is being made!

When work like this is completed, will a careful inspection reveal a repair was done? For example, if you know what to look for on cars, you can pretty clearly determine if there's been paint or body work. Less clear to me about fiberglass work....
This is the most extensive gelcoat repair I have had done, so I am not sure. I have never had to have them use filler before. Luckily on this boat the damage wasn't structural at all. The underlying fiberglass wasn't damaged. It was just the gelcoat. They are just leveling everything up so that the gel looks good when applied.
