Another Project -- 2003 Air Nautique 226 Team Edition

The 226 has two small mufflers -- one on each side. Makes changing the impeller...fun.

It's interesting that the 211's with the 330 have a single outlet while the 226's have duals. Wondering if packaging the muffler in either configuration led them to go one way or another?

Boat is looking good. Amazing how some people can invest in things and neglect them so badly.

Well, I took another week off of work to spend time working on my project boats, and once again it is going to pour rain EVERY SINGLE DAY this week, so I can't really do much. The exact same thing happened last time I tried to do this.

I spent some time today in the garage assembling the Roswell Aviator tower for this boat. I was very impressed with the packaging of the tower. Everything was wrapped so well that it took me almost an hour just to get everything out of the box and unwrapped!

I still need to get the width measurements from the boat, so I haven't locked the center section of the tower in place yet, but everything else is done, including installing the risers at the bases.

I have the Roswell Shadow Top bimini that will mount to this tower too. The frame is white and the fabric is black. Should look great!

Make sure you have a ratchet strap on the center section connected to each side. Otherwise it will slide when you lift it into place, and hard to adjust since you get it up.

I installed the studs first, and put it in the way, but I think you can set it up there over the holes drilled, and run the studs up that way.

I think installing them first was easy enough.

Just picked up this awesome teak platform that may end up on this boat. It is basically new old stock. It was purchased by an owner of a 211, and it sat in his garage for years without ever being put on the boat! This was going to go on the 211 I am working on, but I think I am going to swap the fiberglass platform from this 226 to that 211 and put this teak platform on the 226. They take the same size platform, and the person buying the 211 wants the fiberglass one.

I'm pulling the side bolsters off tomorrow so that I can install the Roswell R1 speakers in the stock locations. I'll hook up the boat's courtesy light wires to the LED lights in the speakers, too. I'll probably leave the bolsters off until I have the gelcoat on the boat repaired. They'll be filling in the factory step pad locations in preparation for the installation of the Roswell Aviator Pro tower, and I'll need to get behind the bolsters again then to install the tower.

I'll probably also finally get the new thermostat installed tomorrow. May even go for a ride if I get everything done early enough!

I got one panel off and the skies opened up again.

It has been raining here for 2,156,325,295 days straight!

Got the two side panels out today. The big one was a little bit of a pain, but not too bad.

They'll get a bit of cleaning, and then the new Roswell R1 speakers go in!

Now, if anyone can tell me how this panel comes out, I'd appreciate it!

I found two screws at the bottom corners, but can't find anything else, and this thing is stuck! There have to be more screws or nuts/bolts somewhere.

Finally, with the help of my friends Steve at Nautique and David from White Lake Marine, I was able to remove the front panel this afternoon.

There are four hidden screws between the speaker pods and the upholstery!

One side is not like the other.

Still have to pull it apart again for cleaning, but I wanted to see how they would look.
