Will be interested to see how well that interior cleans up with a brush and cleaning solution. It looks rough now but there is potential. Would also be worried about how it has faded.

Is the yellow gelcoat faded or was that close to the original color?

The gelcoat is quite faded/oxidized. It'll buff out nice though. It does have some chips that will need to be filled, and a spider crack in the white, but it'll be a fairly easy fix on the gelcoat.

So what was the PO's story on the tower damage? From the bends on both sides, looks like it ran into something when on the trailer....? And if I may ask, what racks are those?

There was no explanation. It was purchased from a business. It looks like it was driven into something, but who knows?

Well, the assessment continues. Nothing but good news so far!

I put some power to the boat today and found that I had towed it home with full ballast tanks! Not cool, but the good news is that the ballast pumps work and easily pumped the water out.

Also, the stereo works! That's the second project in a row where the stereo has actually worked. That's something that I have never had luck with on project boats before.

All electronics (including PerfectPass) seem to be functional with the exception of the blower, which is an easy-enough fix.

And for the best bit of information yet, I found out that it only has 291 hours on it! That's great news!

Got started on the cleaning today. It is very dusty and dirty, but the transformation is starting!



The picture below is after just a light spraying with the hose. I haven't used any cleaners or wiped anything at all on the interior yet.

I'll be curious to see how much of the upholstery is usable. I would think 2 years outdoors combined with the age of the boat would have killed it all.

Did some work on mechanicals today. Fresh oil and filter, fresh batteries, and spent some time getting it running!

More cleaning today. I am very happy that it appears that the original upholstery can be saved! There is a bit of cracking in the yellow on two or three cushions. Not sure how I am going to deal with that yet.

Below is the bow after a single pass with Spray Nine Marine and an upholstery brush. This has not been rinsed or protected with 303 yet.

VERY happy with the results!







Moving on to the main seating area now.
