Smart to yank the heads before trying to start it. That looks REALLY clean in there. I'd be a little worried about the crank being pitted but on these motors it probably doesn't matter much. Listen for rod knock when you start it.

As for the ECU, hopefully it's conformal coated. Although at least you can get a new one now after others figured out an early 90s Mustang computer works with a flash chip.

Hopefully with fresh water submersion you won't have a bunch of corrosion issues.

shes squishing shes bangin and shes blowing but she didnt start shes turning a little slow. i think the battery voltage is a little low as i only have 1 battery hooked up and ive been cranking it a couple times already and no charger. boat is in storage so its a pain to work on it i always have to take all my tools with me when i go and forgot my multimeter. im taking another battery this week well see what happens but im pretty confident!!!

If the Ford ECU doesn't work. Holley makes one now to go to thoes motors so you do not have to change the engine harness. Plug and play

If your timing marks are off, you might want to replace the balancer. Not sure if PCM uses Ford parts for this (guessing they do) but the stock Ford balancers are notorious for slipping the outer balancer ring.

It's one of the first mods the Mustang guys do to 5.0s and not because it gives more power.

PCM does use ford parts. This balancer fits just fine: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-163289/make/ford

Man its been a minute since I updated. Haven't seen my boat in about a year, busy with 19 month old baby, relocated to Dallas TX, started new job tons of blessing but I'm back baby! Having the boat shipped next week hopefully she makes it alright. Just spent some money on making the trailer road worthy for the trip my pops was nice enough to do the work for me since I've been real busy here in Dallas and would have not been a le to do it myself. I was quoted about $450 for hubs and labor but free is better lol my dad rocks. Anyways here are some pics from the last time I got to do anything else on her. Pulled the tank cleaned it inside and out, refreshed the dash and side panel, new bildge pumps and wiring while I had the tank out. Can't wait to get it here so I can get this thing ready for the season.
