It didn't fill with water. The cover must have leaked though, and it was pooled with water for a LONG time. It was so pooled that it actually bent the rubrail by pulling on the snaps used to secure the cover! That's why I had to replace the rubrail. The cover must have come off at least a part of the front, because there was one area where the black gel had oxidized and needed to be sanded. I am just glad they left the plug out!

Right...lucky indeed, Did anyone take any pictures of the boat in it's natural state...ie - before it was it was excavated like a long buried Egyptian artifact? Don't seem to recall seeing one.

All of the electronics, including the speakers, sub, amps, heater, PP Master Module, and dash look brand new. Even the gateway box looks great.

I think it's going to be interesting to see how the electrics all behave with a little operation time behind them....sitting for that long in a damp environment just can't be healthy. Granted...this is all supposed to be marine service stuff but I think this is a bit beyond what the mfg's had in mind. I think the risky items would be anything mechanical like a gauge or a relay...the IC stuff might just be OK. But fingers crossed for a great outcome!

just an FYI in case you forgot but I did pull the gas tank and flush it very well, added 91 non ethanol and some cleaning additives.

silent. The pictures Jeff posted of the boat are from when I originally got the boat. I gutted the interior and tank and vacuumed the carpets to look nearly new. Jeff took it to basically showroom condition with the soap and pressure washer.

Here it is running. I didn't have any water to the engine, so I just ran it for a split second, but I am happy to see it running!

Official total hours are 19.2 according to the engine ECU. It wasn't registering before, but now that PCM has laid their hands on the engine, it is working again. I am happy with 19.2!

Now that the boat has almost 20 hours on it I’m sure it’s worn out and will need plenty of maintenance... I’ll take it off your hands so you don’t have to deal with the hassle!

NautiqueJeff - question on the motor. With the work done by PCM, is this motor now effectively a 342 HP setup or did it stay a 330 HP setup? I see you mention a manifold swap....curious if that's a key part of the power bump.

I know they replaced some of the internals with "updated components", but I know that part of the 330 --> 343 changes involved a different ECU, and this ECU was not changed. As far as I know, this is still a 330.

New upholstery is going in this week. So glad to finally have this coming in.

Right now it is just sitting in place, not bolted down. I only have some of the pieces, but the rest should be here soon.

What about pushed it past saving? Stains or cracking? Not surprised it's gone given the abuse...and this boat deserves a tip top interior...

The original cleaned up much better than expected, but not quite good enough for what this boat deserves. With this few hours, the interior should be perfect, and now it will be.

Yeah, but in the third picture above, you can see the top of my other '67 Beetle. This one was my very first car, and I still have it and drive it often.

NautiqueJeff What is your plan with the boat? You going to keep it? I had a 2003 216 and now have a 2008 220, I miss how good the 216 drove. It was like a Porsche on water.

Not sure yet. It is a great boat, and it is looking really good right now! It'll be hard to part with it.

Been a while since I posted an update on this one. The boat got a final buff today at the gelcoat shop, and I installed the graphics. It is probably going to get a Roswell Aviator tower at some point, so I went ahead and put the AIR graphics on it. Pretty happy with how it turned out!

Still need to oil the teak swim platform, but other than that, it is just about wrapped up!
