Looking forward to seeing how the clean-up goes. Just the pics with the interior out makes it look a lot better already. Should be a nice boat, assume you will plan to buff the gelcoat as well?

Oh yeah. I talked to my fiberglass guy about that today. The original owner seems to have owned a sign company, and ordered the boat without any graphics from the factory. Then he installed this weird fish graphic on the side. That has to go, and then we’ll buff the whole thing and install the original style pinstripe and graphics.

The black on black on black is going to look outstanding. I love boats with black interior decks!!!

Here's the weird fish/shark logo. Notice the WS registration that expired in 2007 (five year registrations there I guess).

This graphic, along with the name on the back, will be gone very soon, and the factory pinstripe will be added where it is supposed to be. I am undecided on the graphics for this boat. The Nautique graphic that is on the rear of the boat in this picture is what is supposed to be centered on the side, but I hate that graphic. I am considering putting the Air graphics on it, even though it doesn't have a tower. Not sure which ones I'll do yet, but either would look better than this stupid fish.

These are the graphics that should be on the boat. I am just not a fan of that Nautique graphic though. Should I use this one or the Air graphic? The Air graphic was definitely an option, so it wouldn't be out of place and the boat would still be considered to be factory-correct.

The pin stripes (the tiny stripes on the top and bottom of the brown stripe in this picture) will be added. I'll probably use silver metal flake pin tape.

That thing is the 216 version of my boat... only thing missing is grey seat base vinyl. Honestly I'd leave the graphics and pinstriping off, but that's my personal taste.

I am more torn on the graphic choices for this boat than I have ever been before.

I have the air graphic on my boat - factory option - and one thing I'll say is that it's a total PITA around the dock. Even the slightest touch on the dock and you have a little hole in the graphic. It's kinda infuriating. You can click on my sig line to see it on a 206.....

I thought the PO said the boat had a tower included.....was that inaccurate or is it a 3rd party unit?

I think that prop with Nautique logo is about the coolest thing I've ever seen. I'm with you Jeff....wish they still made those!

It came with a Fly High extended pylon, but no tower.

Jeff do you know what the difference is with the marine spray nine over regular spray nine? I looked at a label and they look the same - but obviously not. I have used the regular SN with good results.

my vote is graphics.. I think it might look too plain without the pin-striping and graphics. That said, I am sure it will look great whatever you do

To each his/her own but I had an MC with the big X-Star graphics. What a PITA. I didn't dare tie up to a dock or raft off to other boats for fear of tearing up an $500 graphic. I know with all the sign makers these days they're cheaper but if it were mine I'd do the updated Nautique side graphics and call it a day.

I'm sure whatever Jeff goes with will look great though.

This boat is at the gelcoat shop already. They're pulling the graphics off and giving it a full buff. It is about to be beautiful! They're also replacing the rubrail, since the cover allowed the snaps that are in the rubrail to deform it. The water that pooled on the cover pulled on the snaps, and messed up the rubrail.

Once they're finished, I think PCM is going to pull the engine out and go through it to be sure it is in great shape. After sitting for seventeen years, I am happy to have them take a quick look to make sure everything is OK in there before I try to start it.

Very cool project! I don’t know how you continuously find these diamonds in the rough. This one is going to be special I am sure.

I have never been a fan of the 2002-2005 era Nautique graphics either. When I bought my 2005 206, a previous owner somewhere along the line had removed the original graphics and replaced with the 2006-2009 retro “Ski Nautique” graphics, which I like much better. I know that they’re not technically correct for the 2005 model year, but I think it looks much better. Just an idea.
