yes - no shortage of salt in this boat - it had a closed cooling system on it that I removed and changed it over to raw water as this boat will never see salt again and those extra parts really complicate things, plus they were pretty crusty. manifold replacement involved lots of cutting tools but wasn't nearly as bad as doing the carpet. i followed some guidelines that I found here. carpet is from factory$$$$... but its real nice. Old stuff came out in whole pieces so making the first cut wasn't that scary....from there trim to fit. Preped the floor/side with wire wheel on a angle grinder and a wipe of acetone... Took a full 2 gal of weldwood contact for me... Worn out tower fittings were filled with alumiweld, reshaped, drilled, tapped as necessary. Tower goes out for powder this week.
nautique parts for the carpet - comparable price with the discount, and 38oz for the floor vs 36something from other suppliers. feels real nice on the feet. i did the bottom of the spotters seat (with the heavy stuff)... nothing in the back - but did clean it up pretty good. used 20ft of the light stuff and 20ft of the heavy, even then had to be very careful laying it out (more so with the light stuff for the sides and motor box) .. the motor box was **** hard to do, seems and all. Yes - rewarding.... really makes it look and smell like a brand new boat.
