2002 Ski Nautique Project

My lift was empty for exactly four days. Sold the restored 2014 230 on Friday, and had this new project on the lift Tuesday.

Ran this boat a little more today. I need to drive something around while the 2003 is out having the gelcoat perfected!

This one is next on the list, once the 2003 Ski Nautique is finished.

Parts are starting to roll in for this boat. The new keypads came in today. The bimini top is also here.

PerfectPass Stargazer with Z-box arrived a while ago as well. I opted for the standard PP Stargazer gauge for this boat over the Nautique one. The reason is that all of the gauges on this boat are black, so the white Nautique gauge would look out of place. The standard PP Stargazer gauge will match much better.



Here's the replacement speedometer, and the new PP gauge next to it. A white PP gauge just wouldn't have looked good.

Also received these parts. We've got new clips for the engine hatch, new safety lanyard, new stern light base and wiring, new three position power switch, and some random decals needed for this boat.

Pulled the interior out today. This vinyl is a mess. Possibly the worst I have dealt with. Some of it has clearly been replaced with inferior vinyl at some point (see the different colors of red). Can't wait to see this all fixed up!

Things are about to get moving on this boat! Tomorrow I am taking the trailer down to Ram-Lin's trailer facility in Orlando, and they are going to completely refurbish the trailer. It'll look like brand new when they are finished. It'll get new paint, new fenders, new bunks & carpet, and new side steps, the bearings will be replaced, and the brakes will be serviced. Maybe even new LED lights.

After that, I am taking the boat to PCM, where the engine and transmission will be pulled out and refreshed by PCM.

Once the engine is out (the interior of the boat is already out), I'll pull the windshield, pull the carpet, replace the steering cable, replace the battery cables, thoroughly clean the inside of the hull, remove the graphics, and prepare it for the gelcoat shop to work their magic. I'll probably also have them install new carpet while they have it, or maybe I will do that. We'll see.

Should have this one all set by spring!

Dropped the trailer off at Ram-Lin a couple of days ago. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Should look like a new trailer when I pick it up!

Are those straps there to keep the bunks from falling off or ???

Indeed! One was already on there, the other had to be added about half-way down to Ram-Lin when I saw the second one starting to fall off!

Reminds me to email them about my crash pad. (they would not take a custom order before the new year due to how backed up they were.)

Things are moving forward! Something came out of the boat today. It'll be in better condition when it returns!

Stopped by PCM today, and they pulled the engine and transmission.

They'll give them a good once-over and make sure they are running perfectly before reinstalling them.

Upholstery is back, and ready for installation once the gelcoat work, carpet, and everything else is complete. The interior is just about the last thing that will go into the boat, but it is all ready for when that time comes!

Next, I'll pull the windshield and break it down for powder coat.

Then the rubrail comes off, the decals get removed, the dash comes off, and the boat goes to gelcoat.
