Just wanted to update this thread with regard to the bogging issue this boat was having earlier.
As you'll recall, I had purchased and installed a brand new Quick Fuel M-600, which has a great reputation as a perfect carburetor for this engine. Unfortunately mine never worked properly. We adjusted it every way possible, and no matter what we did, it would bog down and stall if you accelerated at all quickly.
I finally got fed up with this Quick Fuel and had the original Holley 4160 rebuilt. We popped that back on the engine, and it runs PERFECTLY now. Clearly the Quick Fuel has something wrong with it internally. I'm going to contact them tomorrow, but I bought the carb about ten months ago now, so I am sure they won't take a return. Maybe they'll offer to repair it for me or something. We'll see...
