2000 Sport Nautique

Here we go again... This one is following me home from Orlando.

2000 Sport Nautique with a 5.0. Looks like it'll need a new interior, and a good buffing. The three bow cushions are missing, too. Otherwise, it doesn't look too bad!

Started with the basics today on this boat. Drained the oil, pulled the spark plugs for replacement, and pulled the battery.

I put a new battery in it, but the only thing getting power is the bilge pump. 2000 Sport Nautiques did not come with a battery switch from the factory, so that's not my issue. I think it probably needs a new PME. I'll do some further testing on it tomorrow or Monday.

Does anyone know what this is for on a 2000 Sport Nautique?

It is a latch like the glove box latch, but it is in the side console near the throttle arm.

I have no idea what it is for.

Figured it out. This is the lock for the rear trunk. This latch controls a pin that acts as a trunk lock.

That's random as heck. My 2004 does not have any kind of lock like that.

That's a purdy cool feature.
I'm not a big fan of blue, but that's going to be a really nice looking rig at the end of a buffer.

Years ago my brother-in-law was pulling up to a boat landing in his ProStar. A teen complimented the boat and then asked, "Is it a Bayliner?" I laughed hard at that.

Bahhaha, slap! That's some funny stuff.
I'll send you a check for your time Dr Sigmund Freud, I think you just got to the root of why I'm not a fan of blue on a boat. Some blues, they be just ok.
Although I think everyone should own an old used Bayliner for their 1st boat, indestructable and it get's you through the learning curve of smashing into docks and trailers, and small floating rocks. Sell it for what you paid for it.

Sorry for the highjack Jeff.
Not paying full attention, at 1st I thought dang, that trailer looks good under that boat.
Then I realized, that's your G trailer. Makes that boat look tough all the same. Good thing you have a backup trailer (or 2 or 4).
