I really like the FJ, I test drove one recently. Just driving down the road I could tell that the short wheel base would be a real problem if I had a boat in tow. I personally would never tow a boat with the FJ for that reason alone. I'm looking for a Sequoia now, I just need to sell my MINI first.
We have an 05 Sequoia, and it does great. I bet the 08's with the 5.7l are awesome.
Socbum, how does that Ridgeline do pulling your SAN? A buddy of mine often tows his VLX with a Honda Pilot which I understand is very similar to the Ridgeline, and I was amazed how well it does. I'm not saying it would pull away from Cummins' up mountain passes but given its overall size and engine, I was amazed at how well it handled the load.
My wife has one of those volvo's! I don't like it because it has no pick, you step on the gas and then step some more then it goes!!! I prefer the expedition. I have an 05 expedition and it tows great!!! It has a goo d wheel base and brakes. I tow my fishing boat with it and I brought my 94 nautique home from the dealership using a 86 2001 trailer (not recommended). The prop missed the protection piece of the trailer by at least 1 foot. So anyways it was heavier in the back which demanded more power out of the suv. I only had to go about 5 miles.

The Ridge pulls the SAN with ease. I keep my boat year round down at Lake Cumberland now so I only use the Ridge to get the SAN out of storage for launching or to take the SAN in for maint. Short haul stuff.
When we pull the SAN back to C-bus I use a 4-runner with a v8.
The ride in the Ridge is very nice for the long ride to LC and I get better gas mileage too!
