    new acme 470 ques????

well i just recieved my new acme 470 and noticed a few things...some good some bad.first off it has the "n" nautique logo in it which is actually pretty cool, but the other thing is that the pitched was increased .45 which bumps it up to .150 pitch from the factory .105. should i send it back and have it set back to stock,or will i actually benfit from the extra pitch.what are the pros and cons.any help or ideas is as always greatly appreciated.thanks-cody

I'm no expert, but additional CUP decreases the rpm, if your skiing then it gives you a softer pull, which is a good thing in my case. If your boarding I have no idea how it would affect the wake, or pull. It all depends on your application. If you bought it from the usual suspects and it doesnt suit you then you should be able to exchange it withen a reasonable time period.

yeah thats what i've figured out too.from what i hear the few people that have put 470's on comparable boats have ironically sent them back to acme and had them add some cup to them,so i'm hoping the added cup should work to my advantage.from what i hear they allow the gt-40 to spin over 5000 at wot, which ofcoarse is a little to high.i'll post up results when i take her out for the first run of the season, can't wait

sorry if your an idiot and don't know the proper words to use to descripe your issue. There are so many variables that effect how a boat reacts to a prop change that there really is a lot more information that is needed to have a better understanding on how your boat is going to respond to the change so. If you want to descripe how you use the boat, ski, wakeboard, cruise, what your current prop specs are and what the current RPM's are then we could help you out but then you never responded on the other forums with that info so why would you do it here. Has I do speeak from personel experience as I did use a 470 on my boat and it would turn it much more than 5K.
