Replace V-drive gasket, dismount gastank for easy acces?

    Hi guys,

Anyone done this job before? I would like to have an oil free bilge on my 03 SAN210.
It has a GM engine and a Walter V-drive. I would like to replace the bottom gasket of the V-drive.

It loses oil over winter, and over season 1/8 gallon at 150 hours, not much but i dont like it.

Would like to know the procedure.
Is it accesble without pulling the engine?
It looks as if the fuel tank is pulled i have an easy acces.
Do i have to pull the rear bench polyester rear frame, to pull the floor above the fuel tank?
How is the drip basket mounted?

I have read such article before, but cannot confirm or find the above procedure. Articles point this leaking gasket ofter.

    Thanks in advance.

Temps are rising over here so we will be ripping the wake soon.

REMOVE THE TANK AND YOU CAN TAKE OUT THE V DRIVE JUST BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE SEAL ON THE INPUT SHAFT WHEN YOUR REFITTING THE V DRIVE

OK easy parts done, rear beanch frame pulls out easy, only 3 nuts. Fuel tank carpet lid onlty 3 screws in front. Fuel tanks looking easy too.
      Keep you posted.
Stil suprised about CC, same 2 inch long bolts everywhere, dont come shorter there. Small on stock.

You should be able to get the v-drive pan off without removing the fuel tank. I removed it in my '01 SAN with very little difficulty, and there are posts where others have done the same.

You don't have to reomve the fuel tank. I replaced my gasket last winter due to the same problem. Using a garbage bag under the v-drive kept the floor of my boat clean and catched the pan, hardware and gasket too.
