    Swing tongue conversion

The pseudo-folding tongue on my RamLin has been a pain in my side since day one and I finally decided to do something about it. Inspired by a conversion I believe ffmedic did to convert his RamLin, I did something similar with help from the guys at Extreme Trailers.

Hopefully the new UFP actuator will peform better than the Titan I had before, trailer breakdown will be significantly easier and now there's more clearance to the garage door.

    RE: Swing tongue conversion

Looks great. My buddy has a Malibu boat that uses UFP products. They seem to be good quality!

Thanks! I probably would've gone same route as you but couldn't find the specific part, plus don't have access to a decent welder. The guys at Extreme Trailers/Pivit Hitch took care of the bulk of the dirty work for me. 8-)

Hopefully the actuator will work well!

Nice clean looking installation, I have the removable tounge, no better then the flip up. My next house will have a longer garage....I hope.

How did Extreme do that for you? Did you unbolt the tounge and ship it to them? If not, did they build you a plate that bolted under the bow stop receptacle?

I really like those UFP actuators, they look so much cleaner than the old Titan versions. How do you check the brake fluid level in it?

Yes, I unbolted the u-bolts that attach the tongue assembly to the trailer and shipped it to Extreme. Previously the bow stop assembly was bolted to the frame, but they welded the bow stop base on in order to attach the pivit hitch. Painted the whole thing and sent it back.

Under the round black cover there is a standard cap that lifts out allowing checking of brake fluid.

That is SWEET. I have the same problem with having to flip mine up every time. Could you post or PM me with the approximate cost of the conversion?

                Swing away tounge conversion

                Hi,
do you mind sharing with me the cost for your swing away tounge conversion? I was at Ramlin over the winter and bought a "kit" from them, but I'm going to have to pull the tounge as you did, weld the plates, redrill the holes for the bow stop base, redo the wires, brake line, etc...

I like your deal better, did you have to re wire the lights?

                thanks,
                Jack
