Last year I added a heater to the boat (robbed from VW Polo as I'm a cheap skate! )Since then I am getting a low engine coolant temp reading. As part of the heater instal, the temp sender had to be moved from the block and is now placed in line on the feed from the block to the heater matrix. I doubt moving the sender only a few inches would account for a significant drop in coolant temp (originally 140F, now reading 120F).
I changed the thermostat for a 160F stat, however on the first day out the temp guage reads only barely over 120F (lake water temp 50F).
Questions, I have the PCM GT40 engine, are there any other locations on the block I can move the temp sender to or alternatively are there other pickups for the hot feed to the heater matrix?
